I had Nunzio’s on my hit list after seeing Dave rate it an 8.6, but it fell way short of expectations. For me, this is a 6.2 at best. The pie was soupy, with flat, mediocre flavor from the sauce and cheese, and an overpowering oregano taste that dominated every bite. Although it’s naturally floppy, it’s also somewhat thin with some crisp and holds together neatly if folded. The quality is solid even if the flavor isn’t, so I can’t call it objectively bad, just not my taste. Still, $18 for a decent 12-inch personal pie is criminal. I came in hungry and hopeful, but left feeling dirty and disappointed.

The pizza is excellent. Very thin crust and high quality sauce and cheese with a slightly sweet taste. The service was unusual. I made some positive comments about the old-school feel of the dining area, and was treated in an oddly condescending manner. Not a charming dismissiveness you sometimes get in smaller places, but open derision and mockery. Somewhat perplexed, I did some research and discovered that new owners bought in a few years ago, which perhaps is an explanation. The folks in charge definitely haven't been running this place since 1953, as the sign says. The server certainly had no interest in the long history of high quality family owned pizzerias in NJ, which I suppose isn't a requirement. That said, the pizza was very good, and the dining area clean and very busy. I wish the new owners best of luck.

So I am moving into Long Branch this week. I google “best pizza near me,” and this place comes up. I order…I go there to pick up our food…I tell Chris I’m in the process of moving and ask for paper plates, napkins and plastic cutlery…he didn’t have any…he says “I’ll do one better.” He then goes in the back and grabs me 4 real plates and silverware…made my first home dining experience a great one that I’ll always remember! I returned the plates and silverware clean when I finished dinner. Thank you Chris! The food was terrific and I can’t tell you how much I appreciate the nice welcome to “the neighborhood!” I’ll see you again soon!

Prosciutto cigar appetizer was delicious.Service was great. I think the pizza sauce was sweeter than a few years ago. Too sweet for was us…..but everything else was delish.. 5 stars

This place is a must..I am visiting from the west coast and of course the first thing I wanted food wise was of course pizza. So i ordered through grubhun and the pizza never got delivered..I called nunzio's just to let them know about the bad delivery app driver and the owner called me back and actually sent over another pie with a piece of delicious tiramisu cake..Class move that I truly respect...Pizza was all that i had heard..great spot with integrity...I highly recommend if your in the area
Fantastic pizza and very friendly staff! Cool atmosphere inside and when they gave us a check it was in an old video game case which was a super unique thing I've never seen before. Will definitely come back next time I'm in New Jersey

My parents recommended this place when I was in the area with my family. Its a really nice place that has an old school pizza parlor vibe. The pizza was incredible, thin and crispy. Salad and buffalo wings were also good. I definitely recommend checking this place out.
