My father discovered this place decades ago and started bringing the fam here. I loved it. Then, I moved to the West Coast. On my first night back, this is where I chose to go. The food is still delish and the place is still laid back, considering the influx of people who act like they were the first to discover this area of NJ. I moved out of state, again, and have been trying to duplicate their cheese sauce to no avail! If anyone knows how to make it, please let me know! I hope SD will still be open when I visit and I'm glad they survived during the pandemic -- for everyone's sake.

Shrimp scampi with xtra veggies is the bomb!

Excellent food. I sampled the Manhattan clam chowder, clams from raw bar and stuffed flounder. All were perfectly done though the chowder could use a few more clams. The flounder was cooked perfectly and the stuffing was moist and delicious. Fat Tire beer on tap for my beverage. Overall a very good experience

One of the worst prime rib I’ve ever had. It came cold when sent back they grilled it. It’s not what I asked for I will never go back management didn’t even care

Good food, sad to see it close. Just wish it had fried clams alot more often. But still a 5 star review because I've been eating here since I've been a little kid.

The food is always great. The servers are very friendly. The prices are good for the amount of food you get.Good size portions.
I’m being nice with 3 stars?.I went to sitting duck for the first time last month with my teenage son. I know things have been crazy with covid but they had no host/hostess & it even took 10 minutes to get someone to put my name on the waiting list. No bus boys, so waitresses were cleaning tables & took for ever to get to people,& it was hard to flag one down.. That was bad enough. I finally got got my steak after a long time & it was burnt on the outside but still not completely cooked on the inside. I sent it back to be cooked longer. My son said it was the worst steak he had ever had & I agree,& he knows a good steak,he’s going to college this year. I unfortunately won’t be going back. Bad food & bad service.

Sitting Duck is consistently the best and most fun place to eat in Long Branch. The selection is broad and everything is fresh, fresh, fresh. All seafood preparations are highly recommended. My wife and I came here together for years when on vacation and now that she has passed I come for the delicious food, friendly service and "the taste of a memory".
