I was at first excited when Dao Madison moved into town and even more excited when I was told they can accommodate gluten free as I have celiac. After several miss steps with mixed up orders, Dao is now cooking on all cylinders. We recently were there with friends and everyone loved it. Moreover, they have successfully accommodated my need to eat gluten free (I have celiac) several times, and have been pro active in suggesting what is easier and safer to make gluten free. This place is a gem.

Like many other customers who eat here, my wife and I enjoy eating at Dao Madison for lunch and dinner. The food, service, and atmosphere is great! My wife had the Beef & Scallops sizzler. I had Teriyaki with Shrimp. Both were delicious with purple rice! The fried wonton strips with the duck and hot sauce are a great starter.

This is probably the best Chinese food in a 20 minute radius. Their egg drop wonton soup is so good and they have a variety of homemade dumplings. However they are NOT KID FRIENDLY. I have been a repeat customer for years, and now that I have a newborn who uses a stroller, I was turned away from eating at the restaurant.

Fantastic sit down for Americanized Chinese food.
Great ambiance, relaxed setting. Staff were very attentive and polite and hard working.
My family use to own a Chinese restaurant and I would say this place does it phenomenally well.
Very friendly and accommodating, especially since I had a toddler with me. Really appreciated how they had kid-friendly chopsticks on hand.
Recommended dishes: Crispy Sesame Chicken, General TSO’S Chicken

The calm atmosphere hits you right away as you walk in and get a taste of the tea. They serve generous portions of some of the most flavorful Chinese food I have ever tasted and the prices are very fair. The staff were very kind and polite. No seriously, my mother put her jacket on and our server came up and asked if she would like him to turn the temp up. I couldn't recommend Dao Madison enough!

There's not many NJ Chinese restaurants around that bring classic dishes and wholesome service to the table, and Dao Madison does just that! (NY has the best Chinese and this family brings their NY taste to NJ) Restaurant is clean, has parking, and is family run and operated! Food is delicious! I recommend the sesame chicken it's crispy and the cold sesame noodles were the best I've ever had! A nice touch is they offer free wonton chips for dipping that are found in more old school restaurants. Highly recommend you give Dao a try, the place was packed and rightfully so!
Best Chinese ever! Never disappoints! Steve is a wonderful host and staff is over the top accommodating. Never disappointed, and highly recommended 🥰

Order called @ 5:57 pm. We were told delivery was 60 mins but could pickup food in 20-25 minutes…. We arrived approx 40 minutes later. There were people waiting. As we waited for while, we asked the people leaving; when did they order food. 3 people placed order 20 minutes after us yet they were getting their food we’ll before us. I watched as more & more people received their orders. I asked again, could someone check on our order. Eventually they came out with our order. Only 75 minutes later.
Guess what; you can keep this place. I could have learned how to read/write/speak Chinese in the same amount of time we waited for our order.
Funny, the Food is actually really good. Not sure why, our order was problem. I noticed the receipt had several names on it… Who knows, maybe they had tech problems or something.
I don’t mind if a business runs into problems. We all have those days. My problem; the host & manager asked me about our order. They were supposedly trying to help us. They would ask us but kept giving food orders to everyone else. It was insulting.
Manager apologized & offered us 10% discount. I told her, I believe we already paid so not sure how we would get 10% discount. I finally was given bag & left.
I think we are done w/ “Dao for Now!”
Hopefully everyone else gets great food & service. Good Luck!
