This place is lights out. Made me think I actually like vegetables with how great they were at seasoning them. I can't reccomend a fine Italian restaurant

Visited this restaurant for lunch and the prices are great for all the food you get. Service was nice - our waiter was very attentive. The food was okay, portions are large. If you like italian food you can give it a try!

After 20 years I will not be dining here again. Quality of food & experience has declined. Service was unwelcoming and unaccommodating. Always willing to pay for a good meal......sadly the price and the service do not correlate.

This has been one of the premier Italian restaurants in the New York metropolitan region for over 30 years. During a recent lunch, the caliber of the food was excellent, as usual. Our waiter was attentive. The decibel level was moderate. When the bill arrived, we agreed that it was quite reasonable.

Top quality restaurant. The food is amazing (the penne vodka!! yess!!), the decor is so pretty it creates a great ambiance, and the staff is always friendly. Everyone loves a good BYOB and this place is perfect for any occasion you want to dress up for. Can’t wait to eat here again!

For **THAT** special occasion, this top Italian restaurant is very hard to beat. Classic cuisine, perfectly prepared. Very professional staff. Great ambiance. When the occasion arises, this is a "go-to" place not to miss. 5 stars are well earned.
I expected to love this restaurant based on reviews but came away disappointed. It was my wife's Birthday, which I shared, requesting a nice table. We were placed near the rear of the very empty restaurant next to the loudest couple I've ever sat next to. It felt like a Jerry Springer episode. People mention the low lighting; the Italian inspired menu is immense and in a font that is not easily read, I highly recommend you research in advance what you want to order. Know what you want going in but do not depend on the physical menu in poor lighting to guide you. My wife's meal was much to her liking with an appetizer of clams and veal in a delicious sauce as an entree. My appetizer was fine, but my veal entree was not to my liking. The portions are generous and we did leave with leftovers but overall I can't justify the cost of the meal to the experience. Our attentive server, saw that I wasn't loving my meal and questioned me on why I ordered an item I didn't care for. That was odd and I finally told her that I made a bad choice...but why am I explaining my like or dislike to her? She wasn't offering to do anything about it. We planned to stay for dessert but between the Jerry Springer couple, the disappointing seating, the amount we were spending on a meal we weren't loving, we had to go. I don't believe we'll be returning to Il Mondo Vecchio any time soon.

Literally the best food in Jersey. The service was incredible and made sure everything was going smooth. Worth over an hour drive for the experience, i give this place a solid 10/10 and deserves a spot on anyone's map!

most restaurants dont retain quality over years and years. this place does. remarkably consistent. excellent food. excellent service. classic old world dining experience... yes you have to pay for it, but that should be expected. I'm sure thats how they survive at this

Delicious food, atmosphere was great and the wait staff were friendly and attentive. It’s a BYO which is nice and we were given complimentary bruschetta before our meal and biscotti afterwards. Very pleasant night. I would definitely recommend.

Although I live in Pennsylvania, my wife and I have been coming to this excellent Northern Italian/Mediterranean restaurant. It has been owned by Marco, who is an incredible entrepreneur that really cares about his customers. The food is prepared brilliantly and the servers (including Claudio who has been there for at least 15 years) are courteous and highly professional. I highly recommend this restaurant.
