I had a wonderful experience at l'Allegria! The Italian dishes were freshly prepared and incredibly tasty - you can taste the high quality of the ingredients. I was particularly impressed by the attentive and friendly staff, who looked after us courteously throughout our visit. The atmosphere was pleasant and went perfectly with the food. If you love Italian food, you should definitely try this restaurant!

We held a surprise party here over the weekend. What a marvelous experience. The room was beautiful, the food was delicious, and the service was top notch. Working with Sal and his team was easy and joyful. Thank you, thank you.

Food was very good. I tried wild boar. Very tasty. Place was listed as a romantic spot. Screaming kids nearby made it anything but romantic. Waiter pushed expensive Pinot noir on us when my wife asked for the house version. Was not worth the $7 difference in price per glass. Our waiter disappeared after we finished our dinner. He waited quite a while to find him to order dessert & coffee; which he brought together. I would not go back.
Food was excellent. Shared eggplant rollatini and octopus salad. Had veal scallopini. All the food was excellent as Was the service. We were a group of six and we were a little loud.
I have been here only twice. Fantastic each time. Had figs and prosciutto. Figs grown in back of the parking lot. Only in Jersey. Cod in tomato sauce with onions and potatoes was out of sight. Love this place. Great wine too. Wife had sea bass and it was fresh and cooked right. Will go back
Great food. Great atmosphere and great staff.

We dined here on a recommendation and what a mistake that was. When we entered, we were greeted by a heavy musty odor. My first instinct was to leave and I should have followed it. As we walked through the restaurant to our table, it became clear that the mustiness permeated the entire restaurant. The odor was so nauseating that I wanted to leave without ordering food, but my companion was embarrassed to do so. I twice asked if there had been a recent flood in the building, but the gentleman who seated us appeared to ignore my inquiries. I made what I thought would be a safe choice and ordered one of their speciality pizzas. When it arrived on what can most charitably be described as a frozen dough disk rather than freshly baked pizza dough, it was evident that even the safe choice was not worth being offered at a pizzeria, let alone a restaurant that holds itself out as being high-end and prices its menu accordingly. My companion ordered monkfish which she felt was passable. From the pizza quality, it was clear that the pizza oven that is located inside the front door is nothing more than a prop. This probably is one of the worst reviews I've ever given restaurant but I could not honestly say anything better. Unfortunately, we were extremely disappointed and will not be back and I would not recommend it to anyone else. There is much better quality Italian food available elsewhere.
This restaurant is music to anyone who can truly appreciate and has a passion for good, authentic food.
It is owned by my husband’s family but I’m not biased in my review. I’ve learned to appreciate GOOD food since my first dining experience here.
L’Allegria is more authentic than many restaurants in Italy nowadays. Saverio’s lobster is fantastic. Traditional and classic decor. Great wine list.
Perfect place to make wonderful memories. This restaurant has been in town for more than I’ve been alive and is still going strong. For dinner or parties such as rehearsal, birthdays or other celebrations there are plenty of private rooms.
L’Allegria - where the flavor is the essence.
Parking: Back parking lot and public parking spaces in front
Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair accessible, not main entrance, it’s a side door that takes you straight to the main dining room. If you don’t know ask the server he or she will help you.

The place may not look like much from the outside but once you get inside you can see this is no cookie cutter Italian restaurant. The specials list is almost as long as the regular menu. Grilled Octopus was exceptional, Sea bass was simple but perfect. Very good meats in the Italian anti pasta. Great service and you don't feel rushed.

Noisy! We were a big party (11) making enough noise on our own. Waiter could nearly be heard Shared four appetizers all excellent. Nine entrees were also excellent Plenty of food very good food... lasagna to branzino. While all good prices were high for the experience

Wonderful seafood dishes! The octopus was tender and flavorful. And both the sea bass and the swordfish had perfect texture and excellent flavor. Finally, the house sauvignon blanc was a perfect complement to the seafood.
Fantastic food and friendly server! Very nice experience.
