First time at Madison Wine & Tap, food and appetizers were fantastic. Service/Bar was just a bit slow with the drinks, but after that everything was very good. I personally loved the cool, relaxed and somewhat informal vibe.
The food and service are very good. The ambiance is lacking. The atmosphere is modern which is attractive but in general there is a corporate feel to the restaurant.
Got there early for a nice drink, but the service was horrible, didn't give us a special menu or Happy Hour menu, we had to ask after we saw certain appetizers past our table. When we arrived there were many tables open but they sat us next to a large table they were holding for a large party. When the party arrived they stood around our table having drinks before sitting down. They were very loud and bumped into us many times. The host should have never sat us that our table.
We really enjoyed all the items we ordered which included the grilled octopus with sausage, tuna tartare, and steak tacos for appetizers and burgers and salmon for mains. Bartender also made a great martini. Would recommend.
Food was very good, eggplant parm pizza, crab cake, mushroom risotto. Service was very good, but a slow start to receive first round of drinks. Would definitely return!
A little bit noisy. The food was outstanding and the portion size better than most restaurants. Service was very good -but a little underwhelming at times.
Great spot for delicious food with excellent service. The servers and Manager truly care about your experience - a unique and wonderful quality that is very hard to find. Check out the slammin' bar pies and curated drink selection. Mike and AJ - thank you for your attention. We'll be back soon!
Good food, good service but super noisy. I liked the open kitchen. From our table we could see into the kitchen. Food a little over priced.
The meal was sensational. Amazing how a pizza can be made to taste so good and not like one from the pizzeria on the corner. Apps are good, entrees are even better.
This was our first time at MW&T and it won't be our last. The food was excellent. Notably the buratta appetizer. The crab cakes were also outstanding and the portion was enough for a meal. The beet and goat cheese salad was also very good. The burger was good, especially the sauce, and the accompanying fries were solid. Decent beer selection snd excellent wine selection. Espresso martini was good also. Chloe, our server, was fantastic and support (runners and bussers) were on top of everything. Bartender even brought us our drinks when he saw our server was busy taking an order, so we wouldn't have to wait.

Great find and we shall be back ! Enjoyed the Happy Hour specials tremendously! Look forward to dining again.
Our local go-to for great food, service, and ambiance. So lucky to have the Wine and Tap here in Madison! Chloe took care of us last night...so attentive and adorable! And the pizza is the best! Love the Italian wine selection! Something for every palate!
Great vibe, food and service. The only downfall was sitting at a table in the front across from the bar during a Thursday happy hour. A large group came in and were on top of us and it was very loud. My party and I were offered a high top table in the back and we should have sat there.
Went there with close to 40 members of GameChanger Fitness for happy hour on a Friday night. Couldn't have been more pleased with our experience. Terrific drinks and atmosphere. Amazing service for our very large group. Could not recommend Madison Wine & Tap enough. A++

Was hopeful trying this place for the first time. Came for an early dinner with my parents. Noise level wasn’t very loud at 5:30. Tried the pizza special which was great. Steak tacos were tasty as well. Quinoa and garbanzo salad was ok but needed some more flavor (lemon and salt?). Disappointed in the steak frites - steak was dry and flavorless and the cuts weren’t very good. My family was split on the burger - one loved it and the other thought it was too greasy. Most disappointing was the service - or rather the lack thereof. Waiter was slow to come to the table, but after apologizing the first time them took over 29 minutes to get us our drinks. He only came back to check on our table once we had our mains when we were almost done eating. My husband and I would have liked to order a glass of wine for our main course but we’re never offered the opportunity. Even refills on soda and ice teas were limited. There was no excuse for the poor service. The restaurant wasn’t busy. Even though we were celebrating a birthday, dessert was out of the question. God knows how much longer that would have taken. Plus $18 for an awful glass of Chardonnay? I wouldn’t come back.
