It's all about the Sloppy Joe! This is not Hamburger Helper on a potato bun type of Sloppy Joe. We're talking about a massive sandwich stuffed with either turkey, ham or roast beef(not my thing) with a pile of delicious coleslaw,Russian dressing and Swiss. You literally cannot fit it in your mouth you must attack it in stages. This is a top 3 all time sandwich for me and everytime I'm near Madison I get one. Walk in pay walk out in 1 min with your own. I prefer the ham because of the salt/sweet ratio with the slaw. You must try this beast once.

If you love Madison you’ll love the Main Street Sub.
This place is an institution and has been around for longer than I know.
The food is typical of a family mom and pop deli, made with love by people who love to serve and have you enjoy their food.
The owners are very polite and quick to serve so don’t miss out.
I also wanted to point out the sheer massive size of this sub. See the photos, it’s so large.
That’s a lot of bang for your buck, in a time when everyone is pinching the purse, these guys are slapping on the portions, so cost effective!
I advise you get the turkey and cheese like I did.

This is my favorite, the best sub Shop! they have the best bread the best roast beef, love the turkey sloppy joe Subs, I actually don't believe I've ever had a bad sub here or anything I haven't liked
Had lunch here about 4-5 times now. The place has all the makings for a fantastic spot bc food quality is good but the meat portions are extra cheap. Cheesesteak and Chicken cutlet sandwiches were 80-90pct bread. Can’t do it again. Had to go there a few times to make sure it wasn’t a bad day for the sandwich maker. But unfortunately it’s their m/o.

Whack. Took 15 minutes (of my 30 minute lunch break) to get two slices, when I got them they were a mound of toppings, not the toppings I ordered(I asked for pepperoni and onion and got a wet mountain of green pepper and onion) and the slices were impossible to pick up without spilling everywhere.
Only two stars because it was cheap.
Great sandwiches in general but get a sloppy joe they are insanely big and even more delicious!!

today 9/15/2024 at 4 pm i decided I would try Main Street Sub in Madison NJ because I've passed it at least 500 times going to work. the place is very clean, a good sign, I thought the food would be good if not excellent because it does have a reasonably good business. I order a stromboli and a meatball sandwich. my take on the meatball sandwich was 5 out of 10 because I'm generous with my compliments.. the stromboli on the other hand was if you were Christopher Columbus looking for America and you thought you found India you would be right. it would be harder to find the holly grail than the sausage in the sandwich. it is a vegan stromboli with a spay of sausage flavoring. save your money. buy canned food that is 50 years old and you will be doing better. sorry, I had to write this review I would much have preferred a positive outcome.

Terrible experience; not sure if my race had anything to do with it but ordered 5 mins ahead for pick up, arrived and identified myself for my order, others came in and ordered and their food magically appeared even though I had a simple pastrami and provolone. 10 mins later, no sandwhich, they started it finally after I asked. What were they doing? Serving others who CAME AFTER AND ORDERED. I was the only black person there. I was also ignored and snubbed by the cashier. Called to complain, manager offered no resolution, no apology, just said, "what you want me to do?" I guess my money isn't as significant as their white wealthy male patrons.

Main St Subs offers a delightful variety of classic American favorites. Their sloppy joes are a messy yet delicious treat that packs a flavorful punch. The pizza is always fresh with a perfect balance of toppings and crust. And let's not forget their Taylor ham, egg, and cheese sandwiches—a breakfast staple done to perfection. With friendly service and reasonable prices, Main St Subs is a must-visit for comfort food lovers.

I ordered a Roast beef & Turkey Joe.In fact I said it twice. They sold me a premade Turkey Sloppy Joe.It was pretty good, bread was Fresh and it was pretty filthy. The Turkey tasted really good.A proper Sloppy Joe

We love the food there, but the lady who works the counter is really rude and impatient. The guys are great though.

I went here for the first time today. As I was waiting for the sandwiches I got curious about the sausage and peppers and decided to get them. As i asked the gentleman about how to cook them, after telling how to, he went in and got me some warm sauce to cook with. His colleague then gave me a nice warm loaf of bread to eat with it!! All without asking!! Of course the sandwiches went into the refrigerator and the family had a nice meal of sausage and peppers with garlic bread!!! The gratitude for a simple and delicious meal was heartfelt because of the gesture showed by gentlemen! This is old school! Where restaurants and food places don't sell the food but feed you? I truly hope that this tradition doesn't die and revives!!
Local family owned place. Great sandwiches (#6 is my fav), check out the sloppy joes (roast beef recommended) and nothing wrong with a Taylor ham , egg and cheese either.

Great subs, we love the turkey and cheese, turkey avocado - bread is really good and all the ingredients are fresh. My kids also like the cheese pizza. Its a great spot to go after swim at YMCA or before going to the Madison pool.
