The Waverly is the definition of no frills. Menu on the wall, servers also cook, and booths as hard as church pews. However the food is good and it comes quickly. And for heavens don’t say a Taylor Roll is like Canadian bacon, not if you want to get out of New Jersey alive. Now my regular breakfast stop in Madison NJ

Fantastic little family owmed place. Owner is super nice, good sense of humor, had a great chat about the photo history decor. Can't beat the food, hands down the tastiest and hottest right off the grill! Best coffee I've had in quite some time too. Couldn't resist taking some fresh baked sweets home.
Simple, affordable, tasty. It’s what a little cafe/diner used to be, and still should be. The owner is a character, the vibe is comfortable and the breakfast is delicious. Bring a smile. Recommended.

We were traveling to Morristown for a wedding and were looking for someplace to have breakfast on Saturday. We hit the jackpot with the Waverly. When we told Rob, our server, that we were from Baltimore and had read about the restaurant, he commented that their customers usually came because of word of mouth. We could tell this was true - the other customers were all locals. That did not matter to Rob, he welcomed us as locals and took excellent care of us. This is a tiny restaurant with great food. You order at the counter and they bring the food to you. The coffee was hot and fresh. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his Egg Platter that came with 2 eggs over medium, home fries, bacon and rye toast. I ordered the special of the Italian Omelet, which was huge and loaded with sausage, onions, peppers and cheese; with rye toast on the side. We were very pleased with our choices.

Try their Thursday turkey sandwich. Outstanding, but too expensive for its modest size. Great, local-neighborhood feel and very friendly service.
Terrible service, worse
