The food and drinks are amazing. But some of the staff is incredibly rude and most likely racist. I went to CODA to have drinks with my friends, and I was told by a waiter without even saying hello or greeting me that he couldn’t have me blocking up a table, which is fine, but it felt like he was going out of his way to be rude, unkind, and to make me feel unwanted in the space. I just find it funny that a restaurant full of white people he singles at the table of black girls. Further, when I tried to say something to him, I was completely ignored. Very disappointed! I didn’t think a restaurant so central to Maplewood would engage in racist behavior, but I guess I was wrong. I’m only writing this review because when I called to speak with a manager, I was again rudely refused the opportunity to have a conversation. There is a way to talk to people, and they seem to be lacking it.

My boyfriend and I stopped by for outdoor drinks and food. We were seated at a table that would have required one of us to be literally have to sit on top of another customer. The rest of the outdoor area was pretty open. So we asked a server if we could move to another Table that gave us more space. And he said you can sit wherever you want. So we walked to a table with two seats. The server nodded in approval. As we proceeded to sit in the chairs another woman came and very aggressively and abruptly shouted “no no no no you can’t sit here. No. This is for 4. Even though there was a significant gap between the tables annd clearly not an 4 seater. Then she took our menus and pointed back to the exact table we had just moved from and said you can sit there. And I tried to explain that we were squeezed in and had asked to move and the server said we could sit anywhere. She didn’t listen to anything I was saying and said you can sit over here. And then I said again. That we were too tight and I showed her how the chair of another customer was even blocking one of the chairs at our table. She then pointed to the wall
And said sit there and then walked away but she was so rude and off putting. So we walked away too. And happily we strolled down to St. James Gate with friendly and nice staff. We will never go to Coda again and have no problem sharing with our friends. There was an absolutely no reason to treat us like that. No wonder they were empty! I hope they give some etiquette and customer service classes to their staff. Yuck!

We stumbled upon a GEM!!!
After hiking, we were starving, and Coda was the place to be!
Wide variety menu that you can’t go wrong with! And if you’re a pescatarian (like me), you will fit right in!!
A first time visit, but definitely not the last…

We discovered (and quickly became regulars at) Coda while renovating our kitchen. Great variety here, and everything we’ve tried is rock solid. My favorite is the chicken club, with perfectly crispy fries. Salads are also fresh.

Went here on a brunch date and ordered a standard breakfast. Their homemade sausage is to die for, but their Bloody Mary needs improvement. Overall, it's not bad, and I'm looking forward to going back again.

Food came fast for some but very slow for others. My waiter was a little bit distracted and also looked a bit too young to be working there, but excellent masseuse. Waited towards the end of our meal sat down with us and we had a lovely chat. The food was delicious I highly recommend the spaghetti. They also have a delicious mint chocolate cake. Service was great very attentive but atmosphere was a little weird, space was very cramped.

Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly, even our waiter was a kid
