Great fish. As fresh as anywhere. The dude who usually mans the counter/register (not the owner, a great guy) is unfriendly, not hospitable. A shame he’s up front. He shouldn’t be.
Best oysters
The absolute best fish store and all of New Jersey in my opinion.
This small store was an excellent experience for my family and I and we will continue coming back together to get seafood. Some great parts about this store is the service and how If you ask for something they will check everywhere to see if they have It and If they don’t they will get it and deliver it to you! They are also incredibly efficient and kind, the man who gave us the wonderful experience was called Edwin and we cannot thank him enough for that wonderful experience. He went out of his way to get everything we needed fast and efficiently and we are glad to know that the fish Is washed inside before you purchase it to help you stay healthy! I hope many others consider coming here with their family and friends and even by yourself I am sure you will have a pleasant time!
Delicious fresh fish and shellfish. The sushi grade salmon and tuna makes great at-home sushi. Worth a drive to get something special for dinner.
This is the most incredible seafood platter I ever indulged in with my family on Thanksgiving! The lobster, shrimp, king crab, claws ready to devour and prepared like no other. Happy Thanksgiving to Freeman Seafood Market! Thank you Reggie and fam
Overcharged me for 1.06 lbs of salmon and half lb of scallops. Charged me $47. Your sign said $21.99lb for Norwegian salmon, $21.99lb for scallops, where did you get $47?! That should have been after tax under $38. I have been to your establishment twice now and will not be returning due to the dishonesty.
A small fishmonger in Maplewood that has been serving the region for several years. It has a good variety of fish that makes it easier for the consumer. There is also a stand with some vegetables that make up your dish of the day.
My husband and I have been shopping at Freeman's for years and we're so spoiled that we can't buy fish anywhere else. We moved out of the county over 2.5 years ago but still travel to Maplewood every week for fish. The selection and quality are consistently excellent and they'll prepare the fish just as you wish. The whole crew is great to deal with and makes shopping there a pleasure.
Arjay was exceptional with her services. She corrected my order and cleared up the confusion. She is skillful and patient. Arjay made my day! I want to visit every weekend. 🙂

My son requested seafood as a reward for working hard during the spring semester. I told him to wait until we could visit the fishmonger in Maplewood since the quality would be higher there than the places where we normally shop. Josh said the salmon cake, cooked shrimp and cocktail sauce were good.
It's a wonderful little fish market I like it

Best shrimp salad I've ever had gotta try lobster salad and crab cakes
Awesome spot to get sashimi grade salmon and tuna! Great to use in sushi or a poke bowl too, just wish it a bit more affordable.
