Betty’s Seafood Shack is an absolute gem in Margate — a must-visit if you’re anywhere near the Jersey Shore.

From the moment you step up to the shack, you’re greeted with the kind of coastal charm that feels like summer bottled up and served with Old Bay on top. The vibe? Effortlessly fun. The food? Off-the-charts good.

We came for lunch and ended up lingering the entire afternoon — because why would you want to leave? The seafood is next-level fresh. The lobster roll is buttery and overflowing, the fried clam strips are crispy perfection, and the shrimp tacos are straight-up addictive. Every bite tastes like someone back there actually cares — because they do.

Took over an hour to get a simple take out order.

Was given this suggestion by a friend of a friend. The crab cake was all crab meat and a good size. The long island clam chowder was very good. And my beer batter cod sandwich was also very good.

My wife and I had our wedding reception here. Steve and Robin are terrific people - they really know how to host a private event! The food was amazing (One of the best filets of my life, and crispy and scrumptious crab cakes). The appetizers (Calamari, Clams Casino, Clam Chowder & Fried Pickles) were dynamite.

Robin is a joy to work with - she made the process so easy from beginning to end! I highly recommend Betty’s to anyone interested in having a private event, or just interested in a beautiful sunset on the bay with delicious food. We are forever grateful for Robin and Steve, thank you both so much!

Can’t wait to come back!!! We have been following Betty’s on instagram for the past year so naturally we had to try! Totally worth the 50 minute drive from cape May. The food was SO FRESH and absolutely delicious!! We tried the fish and chips, lobster roll, outta the parc salad, onion rings, calamari, and steamers ? and all washed down wit a BYOB of wine! We clearly brought our appetites and good thing because it was all so tasty. We met Steve, who was so friendly and personable and gifted us some frozen chocolate dipped key lime pie ice cream bars. Omg. To die for. Can’t wait to come back, next time we are definitely bringing our dog to sit on the patio! Thanks, so much, Steve and co! We can’t wait to come back to Betty’s!

This was my first time here and the food was outstanding. The staff was friendly and attentive. We sat outside overlooking the marina and enjoyed our salmon and lobster rolls. The coleslaw and house made cocktail sauce were also fantastic. I highly recommend coming to Betty’s.
