“Our office is very close to Johnny's and we go quiet often. The owner Johnny is always there and sometimes you will see him walking around the dining rooms checking on things. His wife is also present usually and ensures everyone is having a great time. The food here is amazing and the best Italian on the island. I recommend the Calamari or any of their Veal specials. They also make an amazing Chicken Parm. We love the atmosphere, it is classy but relaxed. Also, they have a DJ there that is out of this world (I believe his name is also Johnny) and our office loves to come when he is there! Fun for all. I would not bring kids here, that is not the vibe at all. They are also open for breakfast, and I think that is one of the best on the island as well. I recommend Johnny's to many of the people interact with on the daily, it will always be my go to spot.”

The atmosphere is clean, comfortable, and relaxed — perfect for a casual date or a night out. They also have a hibachi grill (we didn’t do it this time), which makes it versatile if you’re going with a group.

But the real differentiator is the quality.

I’ve spent significant time in Japan (both during my Navy years and professionally), and I’m picky about sushi. A lot of places around here feel like “buffet sushi without the buffet” — the fish looks tired, the cuts are uneven, and the presentation feels mass-produced.

Not here.

The fish was fresh, clean, properly cut, and beautifully presented. You can tell immediately when a kitchen respects the product — and this one does. The rice was right, the balance was right, and nothing felt rushed or sloppy.

Pricing was very reasonable for the quality we received, which made it even better.

If you care about real sushi quality and not just big rolls drowned in sauce, this place delivers.

“I wanted to share how great this spot is. My son attended Stacy’s Surf Camp and they delivered food daily to the kids. My son will not eat a burger at home but he said they were great here and ate one. Haha. I need the secret. I had to cancel a preorder due to weather and they did not hassle me and allowed me to cancel. I really appreciated that. We also went there for dessert this week and it was fast and great. Staff very kind. I highly recommend their dairy fee options which were amazing.”

“Amazing food!!! Everything is excellent!! 9.00 for a side of home fries on Uber eats is a excessive for that small side you get, but I just won’t order them. Other than that, their sandwiches are excellent. They are $10 for a small takeout container size when you order through Uber Eats I am not sure if the restaurant is even aware of this or if this is actually the price because if so, this cost more than a side of breakfast meat and a dollar less than the cost of a breakfast sandwich.”

“The amount of ice cram that is given is unbelievable! With the amount of ice cream, coupled with the ingredients, it was fabulous. No holding back on anything. The small portion was big, and I had a large portion. The large is definitely for two people!”

“We love ordering from Barrels. If you go there during the off-season, there is plenty of room to sit with zero noise. It's a great spot for dinner or apps with friends. The food is consistently delicious and the portions quite large. I have to give a shoutout to Sierra & Samantha. I have seen Sierra there more than once doing her thing as a pregnant woman. Rock on!! She still greets with a smile!! I ALWAYS get the chicken cutlet milanese salad while my husband typically gets a pasta but this time he had soup. Barrels is known for their soups. Just call for their daily specials and you won't be disappointed!”

“Last night was our 1st time there, and I must say, it was OUTSTANDING. We had chicken Parm, 9th street chicken, Veal Milanese, and Linguini w/chicken. All dishes had excellent presentation, very hot and huge! Food was delicious. Atmosphere was a bit tight and loud especially if you want to have a conversation, but overall we really enjoyed it. We will be going back and recommending this restaurant. Going to try the Pizza as that looked great!”
