Been coming here forever and it's one of the best around. Good ingredients, friendly staff, and classic NJ bagel store pacing
Such a great place and the people are the best! Ate there and go sidetracked with conversations that I totally forgot to share pix of our bagel sandwiches!! Well the egg salad and chicken salad was super fresh. Did get a cool rainbow cookie donut that I will gladly share! The atmosphere is quite deli friendly with coffee bar too. Go and enjoy!

I have high standards for bagel shops from growing up in Brooklyn with top quality bagels available at several places nearby. So take my review with a grain of salt. In Matawan where I live now, we have a couple of good options but I still like to try different places now and then. This place "Bagel Talk" is not nearby but it's on the way home from where I work out. So I've tried it twice in the past year. Bagel Talk is an appropriate name because they talk a good game, but fall apart from their actions. The bagels here are pretty good, as are some of their dessert options like the rainbow cookie donut. Unfortunately they get three stars from me because both times I went there, my order was written on a piece of paper then promptly lost. It seems to be quite busy in the morning. So both times I waited in line to place my order. Then stood patiently as other customers came in, ordered, then left with their food. Only after becoming annoyed that my sandwich is taking so long, would I ask the staff about it. They look around, can't find my order, then start making it after I've asked about it. No apology or discount. Just a shrug when buying a buttered bagel eats a half hour of my day. Wish I could rate them higher, but service goes hand in hand with food quality.

3 stars would be a stretch. Subpar food quality, a coffee carafe had a long hair on top of it, the lady at the register (the one who handles the money) decided to shove her 2 fingers inside my cup when giving it to me (asked for a clean one).

the food is regular nothing crazy i paid 8 dollars for a chicken salad sandwich with two lil pathetic pieces of lettuce and they forgot to add the sandwich in my order which was well over 30 dollars and the red haired lady runs around the store looking for my proof of purchase for like 6 minutes and tries to say i only got one when i already explained multiple times i had two receipts cause my order was big. mind u im a regular (not anymore💀) and clearly they don’t have trust that THEIR employee forgot my sandwich . just odd and greedy just like every other place out to eat these days it’s sad how times have changed.
Bagel Talk is the talk of the town. This bustling eatery features homemade bagels made without preservatives, fat, or cholesterol. On a Saturday morning the flow of clientele was steady and impressive. The bagels were delicious and they offer a wide variety of flavors. Their schmears are tasty and they also have breakfast sandwiches, cold cuts and lunch sandwiches too. They have tables for dine-in (first come, first serve basis). They also offer several different hot coffee flavors. Highly recommend!

Bagel Talk is an absolute gem for bagel lovers! For me, it’s simply the best. The taste of their bagels is top-notch, and the variety is incredible—you'll never get bored with the selection. What really stands out are the many options of cream cheese flavors, which add an extra layer of indulgence to the experience. Whether you're craving a classic bagel or something a bit more adventurous, Bagel Talk delivers with great quality and flavor every time. Highly recommended!

I am generally not a fan of this bagel store. I rarely go here even though it is closest to my home. I have gotten raw bagels in the past, but my wife needed to go to Wawa and she asked me if I wanted a bagel. Of course raw dough throughout.
I’ve lived in New Jersey almost my whole life, this was the go to bagel place for years and I’ve moved out of New Jersey four years ago. Every time I come back, this is the first place I go for breakfast or lunch. I’ve had everything there from their coffee cake to their burgers and anything in between as well. My favorite is a toasted everything bagel with chicken salad and Swiss cheese or of course, a bagel, lox and cream cheese, and you can’t be there
Pork roll, egg and cheese on a roll. And of course, I’m not gonna forget the many flavors of coffee they have, cinnamon hazelnut, and toasted almond are my favorite
Hands-down, the best coffee place in the county. I can’t wait to come back October

Very good traditional bagels. Spreads are hit or miss but generally a good experience. Cream cheese and lox or tuna with lettuce and tomatoes are family staples.
