As a Burmese, I highly recommend it! My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed all the dishes we had. Owner was so kind and friendly as well. Very nice music, good atmosphere, clean restrooms, excellent food, what's more to ask for? Go stuff your face here!

Very authentic! I always order N7, the pork bone broth with meatballs and everything, and it is pretty delicious. The staff is polite and friendly. One day we came in late, and they gave us the fried tofu for free! Yummy! Highly recommend this place!

Delicious food and a family-run local feel. The family that owns restaurant are so kind. The food is sweet and super savory, we ordered two different chicken dishes, the chicken curry was tender and amazing, and the duck noodles. The noodles were the best texture and so satisfying. It’s really comforting food. We also got some peppers on the side and coconut rice to mix into each dish. I recommend this spot to anyone!

I first went to this wonderful Burmese restaurant on the fourth day of January this year. This was to celebrate the seventy-seventh anniversary of Myanmar's day of independence from Great Britain. I fondly recollect that day being the first time I ever had Burmese cuisine.
Then, I went to this place again for the second time last night after visiting a Laotian and Thai restaurant that was not too far from the place and having my first taste of Laotian cuisine in honor of Laotian independenceday which was on the twenty-second of October. I loved the coconut chicken noodle soup and the hot Burmese tea I had for my first and second visits. I enjoyed the samosas I had for my first visit. And lastly, I loved the plain palata I had as an appetizer for the second visit.

Food here is done with such freshness and attention to flavor detail, that I don't think I would venture that even all Burmese food (this is a first for me) is this good. I may be familiar with all of the ingredients, but there is simply nothing I would even compare it to. Just so good.

Small restaurant with 6 tables or so, half are two seats. We got here right before the crowds on a Sat noon time. Food was on a bit salty side but fresh ingredients. We were disappointed on the curry beef as the meat was dry and not much flavor. The curry sauce was good.
We also tried spring rolls, Mohinga, Bait noodles with seafood and they were tasty 😋

Amayar has easily become my favorite restaurant in Hackensack. I’ve done both dine-in and take-out and have been satisfied every time by the friendly service and delicious food. I’ve tried the duck noodles, coconut chicken noodle soup, and beef curry with coconut rice- would rank them all a 5/5. The beef curry is my absolute favorite, the meat is tender and packed with flavor, pairing wonderfully with the coconut rice. I wish I had photos to share but you can take my word that they serve good portions and present nicely. The owner is very friendly and even threw in a bag of homemade chips on the house. Always a great experience at Amayar & can’t wait to try more of their menu!

I couldnt say more good things about this resturant, the owner welcomed me and and my wife in kindly and from the very moment we sat down he made sure we were taken care of, he gave us complimentary chips it seems like he seasons himself and the food was superb, flavorable, fresh and genuinely authentic. Delicious flavors and spices, could not have asked for a better Initial experience.

The food is so good! We haven’t had burmese food before. After we tried it, we become their loyal customers lol. I love the curry beef and fish soup noodle and we ordered a lot to take home too as we live 40 minutes far away

The food is delicious, and the owner is always very friendly and accommodating! My favorite dish I've tried so far is the Coconut Chicken Noodle Soup, but there are lots of great options. Good vegetarian ones too, and they've made us off-the-menu vegetarian dishes before for my slightly picky vegetarian sister. Always feel good eating here and giving this place our business!
