Tried this place a few times pizza was good so we expanded to eggplant parm big mistake. That was possibly the worst eggplant I ever had . Tough bitter just not good

This place has been in our town for decades and has had its ups and downs regarding food prep and quality. Decor was always lovely. This last visit proved that the kitchen is back to producing excellent meals. But what happened to the decor??? Black carpet and black tabletops, diner style? The menus we were handed were not what they once were- an indication of serious and delicious food presentation, but rather what one would be handed in a coffee shop. Step up your game Dante's and bring back the good looking menus and table cloths. Take back your pride with your former ambiance! Your food is worthy of that much.

Our family discovered Dante's in 1993. Tommy and I enjoy going for dinner, but our family has catered so many parties there; most recently our granddaughter Aria's Christening on 2/17/24. We have catered our younger daughter Alex's communion, our Michelle's bridal shower, my Mom's 90th birthday and my 65th birthday there three years ago. Lisa has always gone above and beyond, and especially working w/Michelle who lives out of state; making Aria's christening perfect! We can't thank her and her staff enough for making my granddaughter's Christening fabulous on Saturday! The Vitale and Nolan Families

I've eaten at Dantes many times because it's very good and very local. When friends come to visit from out of town, I always take them there. The ambience is calm and it's a good place to have great conversations and enjoy each other's company. The waitstaff is friendly and efficient and I never feel rushed. The selection is excellent and the quality of the food is good. I think they do a really good job and I'm a good cook! I feel the prices are quite reasonable for the quality and quantity of food provided. So many times I've had an upset stomach after eating out so I choose my restaurants very carefully now. My stomach has always felt fine after eating at Dantes, no matter what I have ordered. I highly recommend it.

We have always had good food and service in the past. However this time, the staff was a bunch of kids with no respect or a sense of timing. The place was not crowded so there was no excuse to ignore us all night. The food was also below average compared to other times we ate there.

We celebrated our daughter's college acceptance to her first choice school at Dante's this evening. It was our first visit at our daughter suggestion based on her love of the pizzas they supply to her HS for lunch time help with college applications. We had the place to ourselves and the owner Tony as our waiter. The service and food were terrific and we enjoyed all of our dishes from the calamari to pizza, pasta, veal and chicken and desserts. Tony was also kind enough to comp our daughter's dessert in honor of her celebration...such a kind touch. Everything was fresh and really well prepared and they were so kind and friendly and ensured we were comfortable even adjusting the heat for me on a chilly night. The meal was a great value and delicious-- a terrific local gem. We don't live in Mendham but it stood out to us as something unique and delicious compared with the saturated Italian restaurant market in our own town. We will be back!

Both food and service were excellent. Friendly and efficient wait staff. The three of us all had different appetizers and entrees and all were wonderful and nicely prepared and presented. Prices were excellent for the value of the meals. Will definitely return again

Very nice Italian restaurant with a good, hearty menu of Italian food. Good for families with children as well as get together with friends. Our threesome tried the shrimp with angel hair, shrimp palm and sole oreganato and throughly enjoyed the meal.

Let’s start with the fact they were able to accommodate 20+ people last minute. They did. The food. OMG. The wings were awesome. Pizza very good. Salads also. I would definitely recommend and go back there!

Food was okay. Service was poor. We brought a bottle wine which I had to pour myself, ordered an appetizer which we asked to split into 2 portions, which I ended up having to serve. Not once was our water refilled without my request..... young people serving who don't know better. Won't be back.
