Goof for wine and upscale pizza. Nice salad with salmon.

Unfortunately I haven’t had the best experiences with the food at Piattino in Mendham. Many dishes have an unnecessary overwhelming grill sear, including the fried mozzarella. The meatballs are often undercooked in the center. Dishes frequently including unexpected spices creating an atypical flavor profile. Overall, I generally do not recommend Piattino.

We have been going to this place for four years but today was our very last time. Quality has gone down in the past year and prices have skyrocketed. My salad had barely any toppings and was poorly cleaned. Pasta is bland. And we paid almost $90 for it when I could go to Kings and get the same materials for a quarter of the price. Service is great but whoever is running the place is seriously cutting corners and skimping and it's showing more and more. Last three times were went we were more and more disappointed.

I have eaten here a few times and I always come away impressed. This is not your typical boring Italian American red sauce joint that is in every town in NJ. This place actually tries to cook food like you would get in Italy. Fresh ingredients are the star here and nothing is drown in sauce. They have a few Italian American classics like an excellent Chicken Parm but will also serve you a perfect Mediterranean swordfish as well. The staff is great and the restaurant is very casual for this quality of food.

Wow! First time eating here and I am sorry that I waited so long to try it out. I went with friends for dinner. The grilled octopus appetizer was amazing! We all loved our dishes that came out promptly. Everything was fresh and seasonal. The atmosphere was very cozy. Our server was excellent. I will definitely be back soon!

Reason I give this place 5 stars is because the woman/manager with the glasses is excellent. The food is good and the service is good but she excels at her job. She’s always on the move, whether it’s checking to make sure everyone is happy, waiting tables or dealing with the customers. I think she does an amazing job. So 5 stars because of her.Food wise the place is solid.

The food is good, but once the menu was changed some of my favorite things were taken off the menu and replaced by less desirable options. I no longer want to go there as now I don't know what to order. Many of the food items are not things I will want to eat, and I don't see my self going there as often. I also want to add how with the salads, if you choose to add salmon, you get one very small inch-thick piece about maybe 4 inches long- not something I really want to order for about an extra 10 dollars or so. It is also the same with the shrimp- three mediocre shrimp for about an extra 10 dollars. The steak is also overpriced now, it used to be a different cut at 10 dollars, but now is 20. There is no way I'm paying for a 30 dollar salad. The only decent add-on for the salad is the chicken, but is still a bit overpriced at 10 dollars. I used to go here often, and now it's just going to be a last-minute-decision place.

Margherita & farmer's pizza completely scrumptious. Jonesin' for the Sardinian octopus white bean toast just from seeing it on the menu.

Best meatballs ever. Pleasant place to meet for lunch. Wait staff quite efficient and friendly. Food good to very good. Plenty of parking and easy access.

Standard dime-a-dozen pizza / pasta dining establishment similar to Westchester's Pizza and Brew chain. Menu choices included an average and forgetful Margherita Pizza. The overpriced chicken piattino salad was a dry offering. The chicken parmigiana and "Bianco Ravioli" was enjoyed.Service was excellent throughout our stay as our waitress was alert and all smiles.
