This is our favorite restaurant. Great food, portions are huge and wonderful service. We’ve been dining here for a few years and it never disappoints.

I had never been served RAW chicken before, until I came here. I ordered the special which was stuffed chicken- when I cut into it, I thought it had to be prosciutto because of the color- it was not. Had the calamari for an appetizer and it was thin fishy.

Totally understand a busy night, but being put on hold for 20 minutes for a takeout order with just the background of the restaurant noise is pretty off-putting. Would’ve rather just been told they weren’t accepting orders.

We had a 40th birthday party for my son that my daughter planned in July for the family of 30 people. The food was excellent and plentiful. The service was top notch. Jason and Juan were there from beginning to end to make sure everything was handled perfectly. It's hard to imagine a better experience hosting a party.
This is now our families go to place for Italian food!!!!!!!!!

As someone who grew up in metuchen then left and came back to the area, I am lucky to have found this gem of a restaurant! The food is fresh and always super tasty, service and atmosphere are great as well. Tonight we had the Zucchini Balls with Fra Diavlo sauce which was amazing, also my go to is the shrimp scampi, my wife had the linguine clams in a white wine garlic sauce. Couldn't recommend this place more, it's the go to for any special occasion birthdays anniversaries etc! Give them some business you won't be disapointed

Civile is a hidden gem tucked away on Main Street in Metuchen, and it just might be my new favorite Italian spot in the Edison area. The food here absolutely delivers. I had the thickest, most perfectly cooked pork chop I’ve ever tasted—juicy, flavorful, and served over a bed of rich potatoes and peppers that brought the whole dish together.
The sausage meatball was another standout: incredibly tender and bursting with flavor, paired with a creamy pink sauce that I could’ve eaten with a spoon. The grouper was fresh, flaky, and cooked to perfection, and the pappardelle was silky and well-balanced.
Service was quick and attentive, and while there’s no alcohol menu, it’s BYOB—so bring your favorite bottle and enjoy a great night out. If you’re in the area and craving Italian, this place is a must.

This place is a god awful dump! I was served stale food. The spaghetti was crispi because it seemed as though it had been refrigerated and then heated up....WHO KNOWS HOW MANY TIMES! The eggplant parm was tasteless and mushy! It was an awful dining experience for me and I will never ever return to this dump! My husband who seems to be able to eat anything said he liked his whatever it was! Save your money, make your own. Atleast you will know what is in it!
Cozy old school restaurant. Don’t eat for 8 hrs before visiting. Portions are large. Chicken parm was good. Tiramisu is decent.
