The food was very good as was the ambience. Although the restaurant was not full, we seat to near a very noisy bar which made conversation difficult. The service was not as professional as I would have expected. It was heard to understand our server. In addition, we were being rushed until I finally told the server to slow down.

We attended a private anniversary dinner for some friends. We were greeted immediately upon arriving a d escorted upstairs where the space was reserved. The Metuchen Inn, boasts an elegant atmosphere. There was fireplace upstairs that added to a nice and intimate experience. The staff were attentive and did an exceptional job with catering to and engaging with us. The food was cooked perfectly, and the drinks were amazing. We would definitely recommend the Metuchen Inn, and return.

Really nice dining experience. No rushing or pressure. Everything was delicious. Price was $240 including tip for 2 people - 1 drink, 1 app, entree and dessert/coffee each, so not cheap, but doable for a special occasion.

I was disappointed that I requested outdoors and when we arrived they just seated us inside. Also on my reservation I noted occasion Anniversary and they did not acknowledge it in any way. These were both options when I made my reservation.
