What a lovely Saturday evening dining experience! It is wonderful to have professional waitstaff providing top notch service. It is my understanding that most of the staff are long time employees and their dedication to the establishment and each client shows. Starting off with a beverage followed by a hot roll with accompaniments (hummus, oil, olives) set the culinary tone. I highly recommend the eggplant rollatine appetizer with an authentic sauce - so my roll was partially used for losing not an ounce of that souce! Entrees were spot on. We ended with my "dessert" being the fab chocolate martini and my husband choosing the vanilla cheesecake which of course I had to sample. I do normally like a dense cheesecake but this option made me a fan of a light fluffy slightly browned cheesecake! A wonderful experience.

The ambiance was very nice. All servers were friendly and mostly efficient. Very professional. But the best part of our visit was the food. It was outstanding! My wife enjoyed a deliciously prepared Branzino while I thoroughly enjoyed my rack of lamb. Exceptional. I would highly recommend the Metuchen Inn.

Food was good, service was lacking. Plates cleared after appetizers, server who took our order asked if we wanted our check. We didn't even get entrees at that point. Had to ask for bread and water refills. Service staff seemed very unorganized. Seems like lack of management or short staffed.

My first time here and everything was just perfect the drinks, had a wedge salad, and the beef short rib which was excellent and well worth it. Our waitress was lovely and knowledgeable and the other staff kept checking with us also. Try happy with everything and I will definitely be back again Thank You
