Just horrible place for sushi , horrible
Beautiful, cozy space with really attentive, friendly staff. We ordered a few rolls, and the sushi was incredibly tasty and fresh. Not for a moment did we feel rushed during our dinner. Definitely a unique spin on Japanese cuisine, with a Latin twist. Another gem in Metuchen. Highly recommend! :)

Absolutely amazing food! This is hands down the best sushi I’ve had around Edison. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. What really stood out to me was the wasabi—it was the best I’ve ever had. It had a unique hint of tanginess and sweetness that added an extra layer of depth.
I also noticed a subtle hint of Latin flavor in some of the dishes, which was unexpected but worked really well—it added a unique twist that enhanced the overall taste.
We also tried the Kimchi Fried Rice, and it was fantastic—perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of spice and flavor.
Highly recommend this place if you’re a sushi lover or just looking for something fresh and delicious. I’ll definitely be coming back!

I went for a last minute birthday dinner and i had a blast. The staff was incredibly nice and attentive and the sushi was amazing. lots of interesting rolls such as the mango passion roll. fried rice is also great. it was quite slow on a saturday night. this place deserves more hype imo.

If you’re looking for an unforgettable sushi experience, this restaurant is a must-visit. The food is nothing short of delicious, with each bite bursting with fresh, high-quality flavors. The sushi is expertly crafted, with innovative twists that make each dish unique and exciting. The presentation is equally impressive – every plate looks like a work of art, beautifully arranged and thoughtfully put together.

If you’re looking for sushi in central Jersey, look no further. An absolute gem, best sushi in town! Amazing service. Rio of Japan does an excellent job of fusing Latin and Japanese flavors while remaining authentic. Its BYOB. Perfect for date night, dinner with the family or just a quick sushi fix. I promise you’ve never had something like the Latin or Mexicano roll before (chef’s kiss)
