“The ice cream and Italian ice taste the same at this location as every other location, which is good. The problem is the selection. I was just at a Ritas in Pennsylvania and they had at least 8 different soft serve ice cream flavors, including cake batter and pistachio among others. This location always only has vanilla, chocolate and strawberry. Pistachio is my favorite and I got that when I was in Pennsylvania. I also noticed the other Pennsylvania location had more Italian ice flavors as well.“

“Jason is honestly one of the main reasons going to Rita’s Ice is such a good experience. From the second you walk up, he’s friendly in a way that doesn’t feel forced or fake—he actually seems like he enjoys being there and talking to customers. It makes a big difference, especially compared to places where workers just rush you through the line.

What really stands out is how helpful he is. If you’re not sure what flavor to get, he’ll give suggestions or let you try samples without making you feel like you’re being annoying. He knows the menu really well and can recommend combinations that actually end up being really good. You can tell he cares about people leaving happy with what they ordered.

He’s also super efficient. Even when there’s a long line, he keeps things moving without making anyone feel rushed. He balances speed with good service, which isn’t easy to do. Plus, he pays attention to small details, like getting orders right the first time and making sure everything looks good before handing it over.

Overall, Jason just makes Rita’s a better place to go. It’s not just about getting ice—it’s about the experience, and he definitely improves that. People remember service like that, and it’s the kind of thing that makes you want to come back.“

“Really fun little spot at Berkeley Heights for a sweet treat on a hot day! The frozen custard is creamy and delicious, and the variety of Italian ice flavors is impressive. Service is quick and friendly — great for a casual stop with kids or friends. Just one heads-up: the Italian ice melts very quickly — mine turned into sugary water in no time. Still, overall a nice experience — just eat fast.“

“Went here this afternoon and the gentleman at the window was so nice, patient and accommodating. He even has dog biscuits at the window for your pup! I don’t have a dog but I appreciate the gesture. I’m thinking he might be the owner but I’m not sure. Definitely 10/10 Will return!“
