Fantastic American-Indian fusion. New owner Chef Sal does his own take on American classics and nails it. True Gem in NJ. Great service and the owner fully explains the menu. You can tell he is extremely proud of what he serves his guests. Will be a regular!

My girlfriend and I have eaten here several times. There's always new and creative dishes on the fusion menu, the food is always delicious, and the staff genuinely care about the food they make and taking care of customers. The lassi is the best I've ever had. A hidden strip mall gem that absolutely deserves a visit. It's rare to find a chef with passion and enthusiasm who wants to take a risk these days.

Wonderful experience. Chef Salil knows no bounds as he artfully pulls together classic and new ingredients into unheard of amalgamations of culinary masterpiece. This Indian fusion restaurant is going places and I look forward to the day I can sit in any city and indulge on traditional yet inventive flavors to satisfy my impulsive side.

My wife and I decided to go to Haldi Chowk for lunch to have some Indian fare. Let me warn those who are planning to go there with a similar purpose. Although they have an Indian menu and are serving Indian food, they are transforming to an Indian fusion place. They intend to stop serving traditional Indian food totally in the coming days. They kept steering us to the fusion menu but we insisted on Indian food. The food (chicken kadai, goat curry, lachcha paratha and naan), when it came, was quite good. We also tasted the fusion shrimp appetizer and nachos with chicken. They were fine, not great. The chef is experimenting with dessert too. We had some samplers and they were quite good. Just have your expectations clear when visiting.

The new Indian American fusion menu is an experience. We loved the naan pot pie, tacos, and mushroom ravioli samosas. The head chef is a kind guy.

Haldi Chowk Indian Bistro proved to be a phenomenal paradise for our palates. The Chicken 65 brought an explosion of spice, the Butter Chicken exuded creamy perfection, and the Paneer Butter Masala showcased a delightful vegetarian option with its rich, flavorful sauce. Every dish was a testament to Haldi Chowk's culinary mastery, leaving us with a memorable and delightful dining experience. Highly recommended for those seeking an authentic and satisfying Indian feast.

Went to this restaurant last night with my Israeli friend. The Chef and owner came over to the table, explaining all the new specials. He was friendly, patient and took his time with us. We ordered one of his recommendations, the Beet Croquettes which were absolutely fabulous! He could tell from our expressions how happy we were. We also tried the black truffle mushroom raviolis which were heavenly! The cheesecake was also incredible :). Highly recommend. Everything we ordered was delicious. Excited to go back and try something else he recommends. Excellent food and service!

A gem in Middletown! This restaurant is under new ownership. The new owner was very friendly and took his time to explain the menu. American Indian fusion menu options are amazing. Honestly the best meal I have had in a while. The owner mentioned he plans to expand the menu and renovate the restaurant. I will definitely be a regular at this establishment.

What can i say. I've been going to this restaurant for a number of years now. But today, I was in the mood for my Lamb Roginjosh, and out comes the owner, Sal - Not only is he a wonderful and warm individual that made me feel at home - but began to tell me about future renovations to the establishment and more importantly, to the menu. He sat me down and went over all of the new recipes and then to top it off, he went in the back and actually made me a new item off the menu. It was heaven!!!!!! I've been to dozens of some of the best Authentic Indian Cuisine, but hands down - Haldi Chowk is 10 our of 5 stars!!! Yes, 5 more stars than they allow me too but that is not stopping me! LOL Once you have tasted their perfectly spiced food - you will have a very difficult time matching them. Thank you, Sal and Haldi for the best food ever!!!

I recently had the opportunity to dine at Haldi Chowk35 Authentic Indian restaurant known for its diverse menu and promising flavors. Unfortunately, my visit left me with mixed feelings and a sense of disappointment. The ambiance of the restaurant was pleasant, with warm lighting and a cozy atmosphere. The staff/owner was welcoming and attentive, and the menu offered a variety of Indian dishes, which initially filled me with excitement. He took time to explain the detailed fusion menu and also share the standard menu.My dining experience took a downturn when I ordered theDevil Shrimp Guac puffs as an appetizer. The dish sounded intriguing, but the reality fell far short of my expectations. The shrimp were deep-fried to a crisp like double fried, which might have been pleasant if not for the fact that they were served on a bed of guacamole. The combination felt odd and the flavors clashed rather than complementing each other. The shrimp were overly greasy, and the guacamole lacked the freshness and zing that I associate with this classic dip. It left me with a heavy, unpleasant feeling, and I could barely finish the dish. For the main course, I ordered the Pepper Chicken Curry with Garlic naan, a classic Indian dish that I had been looking forward to, looks like kadai chicken with lot of pepper masala. Unfortunately, the dish turned out to be a rollercoaster of disappointment. Some pieces of chicken were undercooked, while others were overcooked and dry. The curry sauce, although flavorful, couldn't compensate for the inconsistency in the chicken. It seemed as if the dish was prepared haphazardly, leading to a lackluster dining experience.Despite the restaurant's pleasant ambiance and attentive staff, the quality of the food fell short of my expectations. The Deep Fried Shrimp on Guacamole was an unfortunate experiment that missed the mark, and the Chicken Curry left me with a sense of culinary disappointment. I left the restaurant feeling unsatisfied and with a strong desire for an improved dining experience. In summary, Haldi Chowk has potential but needs to pay more attention to the quality and execution of their dishes. Until improvements are made, I'd hesitate to recommend this restaurant to fellow food enthusiasts.

First time here and definitely will return. Old standbys (lamb Korma and veggie malai kofta) were delicious. New owner Salil shared some of his new recipes that were very creative and delicious. We are looking forward to new tastes next time!
