This place has the best orange chicken I have ever eaten in my life. The only problem with it is it’s soaked in the orange stuff. But that doesn’t change the flavor. It is amazing.

Very disappointed in an understatement. This was our first time trying this place. Walked in and they weren’t very. It’s for a Friday night. The owners/cooks seemed like they didn’t care to be there. The food had no love in it or felt off. The dumplings were meh and the dumpling sauce was bad - it was so sharp like it was made with just rice vinegar and a splash of soy sauce. The shrimp at this place is clearly frozen which isn’t fine but all of our dishes they were so tough like it was cooked too long. The egg foo young was burnt and you couldn’t just use a fork to cut and eat it. The house lomein was extremely dark and greasy and again the shrimp, pork, and chicken were not great. The house fried rice was just white rice and was bland. The onions in it weren’t small, it was just giant chunks like they couldn’t be bothered to prep it. The boneless spareribs have no glaze at all and were tough like beef jerky - although they had a nice char, but we’re just way off. Egg rolls were also just odd, they didn’t have much in them and the outer wrap was so hard to bite through. The whole meal was just disappointing and everyone in the shop was miserable. Our meal was extremely costly considering expectations vs reality. Nothing tasted like you would expect and it was just a greasy mess. Wouldn’t order here again. We actually decided to try the one across the street the following day because it was disappointing but I will not review it in this one.

Looking for new Chinese spot in/near Middletown. Happen to stop for soup and egg rolls. On the way home bag leaked and food was lost. Called for replacement fully expecting to pay for new food but to my surprise they replaced at NO charge. I found my new go to...and the food was great. Win/win. I will be back

This is the best Chinese food I have ever had hands down. I recently moved from Belford and I simply cannot find another Chinese restaurant that is equal to Happy Garden. I miss their Chinese food so much!!! So fresh and delicious and huge portions at a very reasonable price. My two favorite dishes are the General Tso's white meat chicken with pork lo mein and the chicken and broccoli with white rice. Fast delivery and super friendly.

Went in this evening and ordered at the counter, the woman repeated back to me the order, chicken and broccoli with garlic sauce. That what it. Pay for it and drive home, and it’s wrong again. It was shrimp. Just aggravating because this is the third time this has happened when they mess up. Called and complained and they didn’t care. Always consistently wrong, this is last time going there.
i have been a customer for 25 years and it just proceeds to go downhill. food is dry, staff gets nastier every year, even though it is not a restaurant anymore, when you go pick up your food the inside floor is disgusting with hair, dirt, feathers and human hair balls. i give up on this place!

Horrible customer service. Placed an order and never delivered. 2 hours passed and I was told driver tried to deliver and tried calling me. This was not true. Will never order from them again. This was not the first time I had an issue with delivery. Woman on phone was extremely rude and yelled at me. Horrible!!

I have been trying to find a good Chinese restataurant in Middletown. My last order at Crown Palace was inedible. I thought I'd try Happy Garden. They should change their name to Miserable Garden. The help/owners are completely miserable, no hello & no thank you. The food was just awful as well. We threw most of it in the garbage. Don't waste your money or time. I would give them zero stars if I could! I will stick to my tried and true in Red Bank, Oriental Empire!

charged us for an extra general tso's despite only ordering 1, I call the restaurant to ask what happened , the reply I get is "what you want do?" and before i can ask what they do for this, I immediately get placed on hold, not much regard for customers clearly
