Been wanting to stop in. Much better than expected, live music, decorated for Halloween, warm and inviting with a great drink selection. Also a lot of TVs for games, definitely will be back.

This place totally needs a facelift…. Paint on the walls is coming off, and dust particles everywhere. And make sure to bring a fly swatter because we were getting attacked by flies the whole time. The food is the next part of this disastrous experience. We ordered nachos that were soggy and stale. The burgers we got we asked for medium rare and wound up with hockey pucks. Also about every 10 minutes a glass would shatter at the bar. As I’m writing this review I swatted away 7 flies. I will never go to an mjs location ever again and advise everyone else not to go as well.

I'm full!! The MJ Hanger Steak ( mid rare) was so intimating as a post bariatric patient that it makes a regular customer feel accomplished.
Took the picture after putting it in the takeout carrier. My apologies.
The appetizers is fulfilling when going as a date.
Local atmosphere is very calming and endearing.
Will come back again someday.

I was seated in the bar area because I was alone. (I ate for two and tipped for two.) The music was loud as can be expected for a bar atmosphere. But I was there to eat. I would have appreciated the option to sit in the dining room. Calamari was overcooked but not chewy. Chicken parmigiana pizza was very good.

my husband and I have been coming to mjs for years whether it's for a lunch date or dinner with our kids MJS never disappoints. the food is always on point, no matter what we get it is always delicious. a few top favorites chicken Italiano sandwich, their homemade thousand island dressing for salads is out of this world, french dip is the best i've ever had. ahi tuna app to dye for! if ur lucky enough to get Emma as your server or Bartender you will not be disappointed she is always so personable attentive knows the menu really well and makes a mean expresso martini! she treats our kids like gold and keeps them entertained. Mjs is a well oiled machine run by the best manager I've ever seen. Dyan's attention to detail and making the place feel so welcoming and having everything that comes out of the kitchen on point she makes sure the servers and bartenders are very well trained. if she's there working she is always there greeting the guests and helping the staff make sure every guest has an amazing experience.She will also help you throw a sweet party and works with you to keep the price within your budget while giving you the best bang for your buck. she does an amazing job transforming the dining area into a great party space. I've had my son's christening, baby shower, birthday parties here in the dining room each time Dyan has gone above and beyond making sure everything was perfect. whether you are considering having a party or going to dinner or lunch do not pass MJS in Middletown up you will not regret it. & if you want a fun night out- Monday night bingo is always a hit or looking for something to do during NFL Sunday game day head to mjs it is an amazing atmosphere and great specials!

We have been going here for years and always loved it. However, over the last few years the service and food quality has gone down hill. I believe that the owner does not care about this location because the other location are a lot better than Middletown.In my opinion the service and cleanliness is the worst part of this place. The taps seem like they haven’t been cleaned in years.

Went out for anniversary dinner (36 years) close to home. My husband spilled both of our drinks all over...yes it was accident but the ladies could not have been nicerCleaned it up and even got us two new drinks. Can't beat that service.. we willdefinitely be back.

The food here is great, I usually get the eggplant pizza and it's truly amazing, good sauce with nice fresh fries eggplant and mozzarella cheese and ricotta. Doesn't matter we dine I or take out the quality is always great and consistent. The staff is very and helpful with suggestions. It had a nice warm atmosphere that is very welcoming. Definitely one of my go to spots that never let's me down.
Parking: Large lot with plenty of space .
Kid-friendliness: Definitely a family style atmosphere even with a separate bar area with all locals
