Canal House Station is a surprise. A surprise to find it in Milford. A surprise to find such thoughtful cuisine in a renovated railroad station. Perfect service. A Sunday dinner menu that's deceptively filling. It's prix fixe, and you don't see the menu till the day or week before, but even our fried chicken night was outstanding, including a superb gazpacho with tinges of cumin in the aftertaste and a starter of deviled eggs with smoked salmon. This is not simply a local treasure. This is a place you come to from wherever you are, in our case 60 miles to the south. We'll be back!

No one presents food with such outstanding simplicity....always delicious. Staff is very professional, paying attention to your every needs. And I can carry on a quiet conversion without yelling across the table to my wife. Highly recommend for people who love good food without the drama.

What an incredible meal! We loved the starting plate of the fresh vegetables. The mussels were perfection. The chicken stuffed with mushrooms was as impressive as it was delicious. A fresh salad followed - crisp lettuce! And for dessert..strawberries with cream and sweet shortbread cookies - a summer classic. Such a special night for us to catch our breath and eat together. We didn't have a chance to chat with the chef when we were leaving as another table was already expressing their gratitude! But, thank you so much, Canal House Station! We can't wait to come back.
