Our visit to Basilico was disappointing... Service was good. Unfortunately, the food was not. One of the spreads with the bread was like a watery hummus...not sure what that was. Split the carbonara pasta dish as an appetizer. Was okay... but didn't taste like carbonara should. One entrees was the short ribs. Here the meat was cooked well and tasted good. The saffron risotto with it was not great. The other entree was the organic chicken Basilico. This was not good at all. The sun-dried tomatoes were overpowering, the mushrooms did not taste right, and the Marsala sauce was not good. Overall the dish was unfortunately nauseating.
Went here w my daughter and my MIL before seeing a play at paper mill and everything was fantastic, my MIL commented on her salad being the best and that she will come back just for that with my FIL. Perfect location near paper mill and absolutely wonderful gem in restaurant! Will go back :)
Great evening catching up with a friend! First time at this restaurant. We were able to eat amazing food while sharing stories, laughing and it felt like we were the only ones there. The attention form the staff as they anticipated what we needed was amazing we didn't need to ask for anything! We ordered for appetizer the charcuterie board with the fresh basket of bread. For my entree, I had the Chicken Milanese which was cooked to perfection and so refreshing with fresh tomatoes and shaved cheese and to finish off we shared the napoleon desert with cappuccino, a perfect ending to a great night out!
First time going here and can't wait to return. My wife is an incredible Sicilian cook, so we rarely go out for Italian. She loved it as much as I did. ❤️👏

Basilico has been a staple in Millburn for well over 30 years! Food is delicious and the service is very attentive! Love the ambience too! Highly recommend, you won't be disappointed!
The pasta was great. Such a nice spot to have dinner before a show at the Paper Mill. Service was very attentive.
One of our go-to restaurants when we are in Milburn before attending the Papermill Theater. Park at the Papermill, then an easy walk to and from the restaurant. We have been doing this for many, many years.
After the show, we had dinner at Basilico in Milburne, a restaurant we highly recommend. We have immense respect for this exceptional establishment. The welcoming smile upon arrival creates a soothing atmosphere, and our server's friendly greeting upon seating adds to the warm ambiance. As our server expertly opens our wine and presents the day's specials, we appreciate the exceptional service, lack of rush, and the culinary experience, which showcases the chef's passion and delights our palates.
Basilico is always a great experience. The staff is wonderful. The food always fresh and delicious.

Basilico's is the place to be for great Italian food in Millburn, NJ. The quality of the food is amazing and the portions are quite satisfying. You will not be disappointed.
We enjoyed our dinner last night at Basilico, food was amazing and the service was superb. The fillet mignon was incredibly tender and cooked to perfection, one of our friends tried the squid ink pasta and that was also quite delicious. Basilico is one of our favorite restaurants and we highly recommend it, if you are looking for a nice restaurant with great food at a reasonable price.
We decided to try Basilico during Millburn's Restaurant Week since they offered a nice menu. We were very impressed with the delicious food, excellent service, and lovely ambiance. My husband had the Fettuccine Alfredo while I had the Cod Oreganato over spinach risotto. My fish was cooked perfectly and was outstanding. We both started with Ceasar salads which were very good. Even the complimentary bread was great. We were too full to enjoy desserts. We will definitely return!
Our food was delicious! Gnocchi with truffle sauce was the best I've had! ( But $60 for an appetizer was expensive!) should have been a lot less. Over all the food was perfect an delicious 😋
We were disappointed. We have been going to Basilico for about 15 years and always enjoyed it. The lettuce in the salad was old. The tomato sauce was too vinegar ish. And the prices have gone out the roof. $42.00 for a piece of fish? Not cool. Sad.
