We enjoyed our dinner, the servers were great, very attentive and professional, the food was excellent and done to perfection. Thank you very much for a beautiful evening!
We've been regular patrons for many years, the food and overall experiences are better than ever!
Outstanding food and service. Every plate was delicious and the service was prompt. A must try with a relaxing ambiance. We had a great birthday celebration.
I originally chose Basilico because of its proximity to the Paper Mill Playhouse; however, its other qualities made location less important. Four of us dined on a Saturday with a 5:15 reservation. I found a parking space directly in front of the restaurant as we arrived a bit early. When we entered at 5:00 and I gave my name, we were seated at a lovely table directly in front of the storefront window. The hostess said, "you requested a quiet table so we have you here." I was impressed! Our server was very knowledgeable of the menu, specials and how things were prepared. I had the mushroom soup to start and it was, far and away, the best I've ever eaten. I had the lemon sole and my wife had grilled salmon with an artichoke appetizer. All four of us raved about the meal right down to dessert and capuccino. As other clients entered we noticed that many had brought their own wine although the restaurant offers a full bar. Had we known we would have brought our favorite wines (and we certainly will next time). Greg Sheehan
Worst Caesar salad I ever ate. Tasteless, limp lettuce with a vinegary “dressing.”Topped off by boxed cardboard croutons. Bolognese overcooked, overnuked, over salted meat sauce. No resemblance to Bolognese. Very good bread. Very good espresso. Pesto dish acceptable. Bus service more professional and seemed better trained than wait service which was pretty bad. Reservation honored on time. Both waiter and maitre'd (owner?) asked my husband how his dish was but didn't ask me. I piped up (loudly because the owner was satisfied with one answer and leaving the table). I said my dish (I had eaten half) was terrible. He asked why and I told him. He said it was too bad I hadn't said something, they would have given me something else. He was right about that. In my defense, it seemed futile to risk another unpleasant variation of a classic (I've already had their carbonara which is not authentic). The waiter then brought over a ball of inedible sherbet which he told us three different ways was free. Years ago I had found Basilico's food, on the whole, to be worse than mediocre and I had not been there for many years. Friends told me it had improved so I went there with them a few weeks ago and had a grouper special which was excellent. That's why I went back last night. Unfortunately, bread and coffee don't compensate for awful food (and service...which could be overlooked if the food were good to excellent). Last night's dinner confirmed my opinion of years ago.
We went to Basilico's before our matinee at Paper Mill Playhouse. The food is fantastic and the service was great, we love that place!
We grabbed dinner here before seeing a show at Papermill and it was perfect! Delicious Italian food - from the clams to the chicken parm, it was all amazing!
Service by Eduardo and food was outstanding. We had two specials- veal and sole that were delicious. We will return. Paper mill playhouse is an 8 minute walk from there.
We meet our best friends here for dinner several times a year -- never fails to satisfy -- service is always excellent and the food delicious!
Basilico never disappoints. Love going during truffle season. A wonderful menu of selections with truffle and well priced.

Food is always high quality. Staff are very friendly. The specials are always worth hearing. We had the osso buco and chicken over pappardelle specials this time. Delicious and generously sized.
Excellent food for the 20 years we've been going there. There's always something to try, like the mushroom soup we had tonight, or there are favorite entrées and appetizers to enjoy again and again. And if you have a sweet tooth, they have a real pastry chef so they have an endless list of desserts. Always a town favorite.
This place is consistently excellent. Food service in ambience top notch. have been going there for years, never disappointed.
The outdoor patio was beautiful...but bring big repellant because the mosquitos will get you. The food was decent. The bread and olive oil were delicious. The calamari and the apple cobbler were underwhelming. The roasted duck was delicious.
Always a varied selection of regular menu items and specials. I had the 1/2 roasted duck which was excellent
