First time I ordered from jumbo shrimp with broccoli. It’s wasn’t salty and rice was really good (not cheap rice) I would try different dishes next time! Restaurant was clean . Plenty of parking.

I had been looking for a good Asian restaurant in New Jersey for a long time. Sometimes it’s hard to find places with unique flavors here, as many end up tasting very similar. After having a great Asian food experience in Pennsylvania, I really wanted to find something comparable closer to home in NJ.

I came across this restaurant online. The pictures looked very appealing, especially one specific dish that was beautifully presented. Even though there weren’t many reviews, the photos and overall appearance convinced us to give it a try.

The restaurant itself is very nice and well decorated, with beautiful wall art that creates a pleasant atmosphere. There was only one person working as a waiter, who I believe may also be the owner. He mentioned that the dish we were interested in was available, but not served on the special tray shown in the pictures, which was fine with us.

We were given chips and tea while waiting. There were already a few customers dining, and since he was the only one attending the entire restaurant, service was understandably slow. At one point, I noticed another customer had to get up to ask for utensils and glasses.

When our food arrived, it was okay, but unfortunately the taste was not what we expected. There was a very strong oily aftertaste that was quite unpleasant almost like MOTOR OIL. I understand that some Asian restaurants reuse oil, but this flavor was very noticeable and affected the overall experience. Additionally, as more customers arrived, it became harder to get basic things like sauces and drinks due to the lack of staff.

Overall, the restaurant has a nice atmosphere and good potential, but the food quality needs significant improvement. With better flavor balance and more attention to service, this place could become much better.

This has long been my preferred spot for Chinese cuisine in the neighborhood. The restaurant is consistently reliable in both quality and service, and it has established itself as a trusted local favorite over the years. Thank you!

Our waiter did an amazing job, props to them really. Best food experience I’ve had in quite a while. The food is amazing, especially the orange chicken. I had a group of 6-7 people and yet our waiter held down the fort. This place now holds a special place in my heart. Love new jade lake!❤️❤️❤️🥰

New Jade Lake is hands down one of the best Chinese restaurants in Millburn. From the moment you step inside, you’re welcomed by an atmosphere that blends modern comfort with authentic charm. The food here is nothing short of outstanding—every dish feels carefully crafted, with flavors that are rich, balanced, and unforgettable. The dim sum is fresh and delicate, the Szechuan dishes pack just the right amount of heat, and the seafood entrees taste like they came straight from the coast.

What really set this visit apart, though, was the service. Our young waiter, Wyern Cao, made the experience exceptional. He was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely welcoming. Wyern guided us through the menu with thoughtful recommendations—his suggestion of the crispy duck and garlic eggplant turned out to be the highlights of the meal. His professionalism, paired with a friendly energy, created the kind of dining experience that makes you want to return again and again.

Between the incredible food and top-tier service, New Jade Lake isn’t just a restaurant—it’s a true dining destination in Millburn. Highly recommended!

Our first time ordering from NEW Jade Lake. I grew up in the area and we always ordered from the previous Jade Lake. My parents still live nearby and had a craving for Chinese. We are so glad we gave New Jade Lake a try. When placing our order over the phone for delivery, the gentleman who answered the phone was very courteous and helpful. Delivery arrived on time as requested. Our order was correct, had all the items we ordered and most importantly, was absolutely delicious. Fresh, hot and flavorful. So glad we gave this a try and we look forward to dining in and future take out orders.
