Honestly, the food is fine. Bit overpriced but that's the neighborhood. The service can be both pretty uptight and careless (paradox, I know):This is largely because they employee young folks with no experience, who have trouble noticing and doing basic things that a seasoned waiter or host would do. I've come here many times, since it's local, and I've never been particularly impressed with the staff, who largely do not see you as anything but a conduit for tips. This is a management problem, easily addressed. Train your staff to be less.... oblivious.

Excellent food and outstanding staff. Our server was Jen and she couldn’t have been nicer. My nephew, Max Clayton, is performing in White Christmas at the Papermill. We were a group of 10 from NH looking for a place for dinner before the show. Max raved about the food at the Millburn Standard and recommended we go there. The staff was friendly, very accommodating to our large party (we did call for reservations, but they don’t take them) and the food was excellent (get the nachos!) They were just as nice when we came back after the play just to sit and have drinks. I feel like they went out of their way to accommodate us and we are all most appreciative. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Recommend the french dip. Ive been a few times. All around great resturant and atmosphere is unbeatable.
Kid-friendliness: Sat in a booth and it was loud enough we didnt bother other patrons.

The staff here needs to be re-trained. We showed up at 10PM- all bar seats were taken- good for them! But 7-10 tables in the bar area and dining room were open. We were told “we cannot sit you unless you order food”. Now this makes sense for a suburban bar at 7pm- but its 10pm. Every single person in that bar was over 30 and had eaten hours earlier. They turned down like 4 groups of people, who then left, because they just wanted drinks. The tables remained empty. We negotiated to order *one* appetizer to sit down, which is absolutely insane. Someone in management needs to grow up and teach the staff to read the room and be flexible.
