Pricier sushi, but always worth it. Staff is very friendly. We come very often. Crispy spicy tuna is the best.
I came here at 12 on a Friday, I sat down with my friends and immediately was hit with ferociously terrible smell that took away my appetite. Also, expected 4 menus, they gave us 2 menus and when we asked for the extra menus (being 2) the waitress gave us attitude and made fun of us in her native language. I happen to speak the language and knew what she was making fun of us about. My friend was the only one to withstand the smell and still order a drink. He ordered a tai iced tea and when it finally arrived it was mostly made up of milk. It tasted horrible as the stench then populated my mouth after contact. The waitress is horrible, the place in terms of smell is horrific, and the food is an absolute abomination. Please for your sake do not come here as you will have severe stomach issues after the milk. Absolutely terrible waitress! Please don’t come here save yourself!

Everything was gross, I ordered a Thai tea at 12:00 in the afternoon and was made fun of in Japanese for only ordering a drink. She lady was very very rude and unprofessional. $4.27 for some milk (the drink had no flavor whatsoever)

Stopped by for a quick dinner and had a nice experience. The food was solid overall, and the sushi was definitely the highlight. Next time I’ll probably just stick with that. I ordered the beef teriyaki and beef negimaki, both of which were super tasty and came with generous portions. The service was excellent, very friendly and welcoming staff. I also liked that the sushi kitchen is out in the seating area, so you can watch them make your food. The only downside was the egg rolls and shrimp tempura, which were clearly frozen, but everything else was great.

Decent sushi. Stopped for a quick lunch and everything came out well. Server was very kind. There was a 30 second repeating loop of a song playing the entire time that drove me nearly insane, otherwise it was a nice lunch.

Very good service and presentation of food. The ramen and dragonball roll were one of our favorites. The sashimi and yellowtail were fresh as well.

Although being a long time Millburn resident, this is the first time I gave this place a try, and it was a disappointment.
As a sush lover, salmon sushi is usually the best dish to tell how the restaurant is, and Umi sushi is not up to any standard, salmon quality is one of the worst I had ever tried, even worse than the sushi in near by shop rite grocery store, while being 2x the cost.
I also ordered something that's not on the menu, it's inarizushi with crab meat, usually it cost 15 for 4 piece, but owner charged me 30+ for 6 piece ( I guess it as my bad I didn't ask for the cost).
I won't recommend this place, sushi zero is a bit better, at least the presentation is better, and although the salmon in sushi zero wasn't great, it is one level better than Umi sushi.
