Our server was kind and attentive and I really wanted to like this place, but beyond good service, Highlander Bar and Grill misses the mark. I ordered tea, the only option was Lipton and the cup was served without a saucer or any plate where to put the used tea bag. The Buratta appetizer was actually quite tasty, but the oven mitt on the pan handle was very dirty, which made the appetizer less enjoyable. Also, the bread slices should be served on the side so that they don’t get soggy. The burger was the best item we ordered, the onion jam was delicious. The ricotta pasta was a major miss. The chicken was weirdly crispy and not in a good way, the sauce heavy and forgettable. The mocktail I ordered tasted like cheap apple cider with a splash of orange juice.

Excellent food and service. Not going to complain about prices...everything is pricey these days.

The food, especially the French onion soup is actually getting better. This is the second time we had McKenna as our server. She is EXCELLENT! Our regards to her. We will be back for our next get together. We hope we can have her again.
everything about our evening was perfect. from the bartender Brooke who made a great drink and very friendly . to the server gab who was wonderful always checking on our table. to the managers Jason and Greg who also made sure everything was perfect!! The food was excellent. five stars to the chef also!! I would definitely recommend!!!
We visit Scotland Run/Highlander Pub & Grill at least once a month for meals, sometimes more often than that. Generally, food and service are very good. However, on Saturday, September 21, 2024, while dining outdoors, there were serious gaps in what is an otherwise enjoyable experience. We sat and wait for extended periods of time for our courses. Our server and the food runners were scarce. Once the food arrived, it was cold and not entirely what we ordered. One member of our dinner party ordered a meal that came with French fries; the French fries were ice cold; the server ask how our food was and we informed her about the cold French fries; the server quickly retrieved a fresh plate of hot French fries. One member of our dinner party ordered a turkey club sandwich. The sandwich had oversized slices of tomato... but negligible amounts of turkey. I ordered the black bean burger; it was served on a roll that fell apart after I took the first bite. The sandwich was served with a side salad, which wasn't listed on the menu and which I did not request; it's rather ironic that the server didn't note this, especially since I ordered/was served an $18 seasonal salad as my first course. The manager stopped by our table and we politely informed him of the poor service and inconsistencies with the food. The manager said, and I quote: "I guess you can tell our chef is not here tonight." I told him .. "no, I had no idea you didn't have a chef on duty on a busy Saturday night." He offered to comp one member of our party an after-dinner drink; however, that person doesn't drink alcoholic beverages. We weren't looking for any comps; we just wanted to be heard and acknowledged. The manager left our table after 20-30 seconds to not be seen or heard from again. All in all, we made the best of a profoundly disappointing dining experience. We normally love this dining experience. While I'm sure we will be back, it might be a while. They need to do better.
First time and won't be our last. The manager knew we were a bit chilly sitting outside and he brought the fire pit closer to us! I mean, this is definitely above and beyond! Came around and asked everyone how their meal was...don't see that happening much anymore. The beet salad was amazing, one of the best I've ever had. And the burger was yummy. We are very picky eaters so when we like something, it's top notch. Also loved the music!! We sat on the patio and it was just perfect
It was a perfect night! The food was excellent! Drinks amazing! The band was great! They had a mobile cigar truck which was right up my hubby’s alley. Also the skydivers put on a show. My husband and I had the perfect date night ?

Brooke was OUTSTANDING! We had a fantastic experience! Our reservations allowed us to be seated right away, Brooke was our server & she provided helpful answers to our questions on the menu. The food was out-of-this world ~ arrived quickly & exceeded expectations ~ including dessert - pistachio crème brûlée ?. The ambience and outdoor seating was perfect for early September. I cannot say enough good things about our experience. Thank You!
We enjoyed a great meal at the Highlander Pub last night. The view of the golf course from the outside patio is so pretty and it's a perfect place for a nice dinner when the weather is so nice. Service and food were excellent.

Salads were great! Only suggestion would be to space out the tables more. It wasn't crowded but they seated us very close to another party. Would have been nice to have more privacy since the place wasn't busy.
Our server McKenzie was great. We were celebrating our daughter and son in-law's anniversary. They held their reception there. I mentioned that it was a celebration and they had champagne and a cake waiting for us.
Not a great first experience. Appetizers and entrees were literally delivered on the same tray. Waiter never came back to ask how things were. First time he showed back up we were done eating, and I was asking for the check.
The atmosphere is great but the wind stopped and the bugs attacked our food and us. We did choose to sit outside, I feel like the lack of fans is an issue. Anyway the apps were good the dishes were not tasted like they dropped a whole box of salt in everything. I wouldn't recommend it with better restaurants in the area. Our server was young but very nice! Maybe just got for drink and apps not dinner!
We ate outdoors on the patio overlooking the course with a nice view of pretty landscaping all around. It was quiet as opposed to the bar/indoor area which was busy and bustling. The food was plentiful and delicious with a good variety of options. I typically don't eat a lot so the $38 price fix was hefty for me and my party but I understand it relates to the abundance and variety of foods being offered. The free mimosas were much appreciated! The wait staff were extra attentive and very personable.
