The host team absolutely deserves recognition. I was running very late, about 2.5 hours traveling from South Jersey to meet my cousin, and both times I called to adjust the reservation, they were so accommodating. The second girl I spoke to was especially personable and upbeat, which honestly set high expectations for the night. When we arrived, even with the chaos of check-ins and delivery drivers shoving phones in their faces, the hosts were efficient and friendly. We waited about five minutes for a table to be cleared and set, and they handled it all smoothly. Parking nearby cost $25, which was steep, but the restaurant itself had a lively, welcoming atmosphere. I had even noted in the reservation that we'd be catching up for a special occasion and might be there a bit longer, the hosts were aware and supportive of that. Unfortunately, that warmth did not carry over to our server. Our waitress, a middle-aged blonde woman, barely greeted us and seemed completely uninterested from the start. My cousin and I are both 21, and as someone who also works in food service, I know how differently young guests are often treated, but I always hope for better. We gave our full order right away after receiving our waters, and from that point, she practically vanished. She only came back twice: once to tell us our food was on the way, and once to ask if we wanted dessert. We had to keep asking for water refills, and other staff ended up clearing our plates. The bussers, runners, and hosts checked on us more than our own server did. It felt dismissive and impersonal, especially since I'd mentioned our visit was for a special occasion. The food itself was amazing! Fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented, and that's the only reason I'd come back. I'm a generous tipper, even sometimes matching the check when the service deserves it, but this time I left disappointed. The restaurant has great potential, but the server really took away from what could've been a memorable night.

I had three Well Drinks (Jack Daniels) and some wings.
Although the happy hour menu says $6.00 / drink, I was charged $10.00/drink!!!
I asked the bartender... She told me yes, because I didn't add a mixer.

First time at this restaurant , the service was very good. The staff was friendly and prices were reasonable. I had the Caesar salad and the focaccia. Focaccia was light and crisp, Very tasty. Salad was refreshing. My husband had the seafood salad which was very tasty and large. We tried the rice ball but the rice was too overcooked and not crispy. We had the bread pudding which was excellent!! Will return.

If the OpenTable app asked for how many people would be dining with me, I missed it. I thought it just said, "reserve a table." So, I told the hostess I had 3 people, not two, as the reservation indicated. She was nice about it, and although she said there would be a wait, found us a table quickly. It was a hot day, and the temp in the room was rather warm, but fans helped. Our server was pleasant, but didn't advise us as to why it took SO long to get our food. We were seated before 6, yet ended up being a little worried we might be late for our 8 pm show two blocks away at the Wellmont. The food was good, but less time for her to take our order and a quicker turnaround time between that and receiving our food would have been appreciated.

Dined at Ah'Pizz in Montclair before attending a show at the Wellmont. The A/C was out but they had a portable unit running that kept the room at a comfortable temp. The food was awesome. Caesar salad, chicken parmigiana and meatballs were all delicious. Will definitely come back

Had the stuffed zucchini flowers with goat cheese (hard to find). Delicious. Fried calamari was good. Margarita pizza very tasty. Recommend.

I'll start off by saying the food at Ah'Pizz is wonderful. I used to frequent the Harrison location and this was my first time in the Montclair location. I'm happy to say that both restaurants have equally fantastic food. What I didn't like about this location is that my part of six had gratuity included in the price, which is fine, I know many restaurants do this for parties of that size or larger, but then my receipt included a line for tipping. If someone didn't notice in the original receipt that the tip was already baked into the price, they would've double-tipped. Make sure to clearly review your receipt so you don't end up paying 2x the tip.

I would suggest to not come here with kids. The hostess made it seem like it was an issue that we were dining with a baby. Another group came with a toddler and they set up the table in such an awkward way that they were uncomfortable. The grandmother even mentioned to me that she didn't understand why they didn't sit them in a different location. Today was Mother's Day so I don't understand why the restaurant was not prepared for kids to dine at the restaurant.The food did not taste like authentic Italian food. It was mediocre. The service was average. The hostess was standoffish and not welcoming at all. I wouldnt dine here. This was my first and last time coming here.

Try the Pizza Carciofi. Cheese, artichoke hearts, and kalamata olives. So delicious. And one Insalata Gigi serves four people easily.

We were so hungry, we order the pear salad and margarita pizza for apps plus chicken and salmon entrees. I enjoyed everything I had. My husband didn't care for his salmon but we will be back!
