The worst chicken shawrma sandwich I ever had in my life. Lettuce was old, turning yellow. The sandwich was dripping in sauce as if they attempted to hide the fact that their lettuce was bad and chicken flavorless. Sandwich came apart so fast. The two men that work there were rude too they didn’t tell me my sandwich was done I had to go to the counter to find it laying there, cold. I was standing in the store the whole time, he claimed he was going to give it to me when he was done stocking the bags…… he could have just given me it by taking one bag out instead of me waiting until he stocked the entire box out. I’m not sure what I did to trigger his rude behavior but it’s a shame that as a middle easterner I couldnt enjoy a close “Mediterranean “ place by me. To top it all off, the sandwich, that I threw away after a few bites was $10…… should have just gotten pizza in town. It seemed like when I spoke in Arabic they were triggered even though they also speak Arabic, what a shame

I go here a lot but the last time I went wasn't as good as the other times. The falafel balls were too well done and I asked for the sauce on the side and he put it on it so my pita was a mess by the time I got to eat it

Jerry is the best! He is a special man! He takes pride in every dish. The baba ganoush is my favorite as well as his halvah! A lot more than that is delicious... Yes the falafel too! And it begins with coming into a welcoming, warm place (takeout with some outdoor tables) where people work hard! Prices are very reasonable. Just go and try it!

Beyond Pita is hands down one of the best spots in Montclair! Their falafel is absolutely incredible—crispy on the outside, perfectly seasoned, and always fresh. If you’re a fan of spice, you must try their hot sauce.
The owner and staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making every visit feel like you’re part of the family. You can tell that they truly care about both their food and their customers, which makes the dining experience even better.
Whether you’re a local or just passing through Montclair, I highly recommend stopping by Beyond Pita. You won’t be disappointed!
