Not even gonna sugar coat this post. First time here & the greeting was very hospitable. Food was amazing. Ambiance was beyond great. Talked about the food with other customers. Definitely coming back when I'm in the area.

I absolutely love Montclair, NJ - It's definitely a foodie town! I've been to a few restaurants here before and they were all awesome, so I was so excited to try some soul food at this spot! I was greeted by their friendly and informative staff! I also loved the rustic decor and large comfy booths! I tried a variety of yummy food: For my proteins, I had the fried chicken and turkey wings! And for sides, I had mac and cheese, white rice with gravey, collard greens and potato salad! I ordered the peach cobbler and apple cobbler for desserts, and finally for drinks, I had the Uptown (lemonade and iced tea mix) and Southern Twang (a secret formula drink that has citrus flavors!) The turkey wings portion was absolutely huge!! I've never tried turkey wings that weren't fried before (I believe these were baked) so it was definitely something different! The chicken was nice and crispy and had lots of flavor! As for the sides, I absolutely loved the collard greens - probably the best I've ever had! It wasn't bitter, the texture was not mushy and I loved the savory flavors! The potato salad was also different - it tasted almost like a deviled egg! The apple and peach cobblers were the perfect sweets to end this delicious meal!

I just ate there for the first time. I took out the 2 piece chicken lunch with Mac and cheese for the side. It was fantastic. The chicken not greasy, crunchy and flavorful. The cornbread was fantastic. Ma and cheese also excellent. My doctor won't like it but I'll be going back for more!

Highly quality food and seasoning was A1!!! Our family enjoyed the seating, service and wall art. The lemonade was delicious. Reasonable prices. We have 4 piece fried chicken with yellow rice, Mac n cheese w/cornbread, side of greens, whiting fish with potato salad! Order to eat time frame was good for a Saturday night rush. We will return soon!

Came here for lunch on a Friday just after they opened for the day. It was absolutely delicious. The chicken was well seasoned and could be eaten on its own but paired nicely with the Mac and cheese side.The piece de resistance was, as the name of the restaurant suggests, the cornbread. It was very sweet and moist.I will be coming back.

I haven’t had soul food in a while so I was looking forward to some Southern comfort food. The first thing i noticed about Cornbread was the prices it’s very affordable especially for Montclair. The service was decent. I ordered the chicken & waffles and I had to try their cornbread. The food was delicious and half the price of Sweet T’s. This place is clean as well.
