Portion sizes are quite small. No substitutions allowed. Very limited menu. Seemed understaffed. They brought the wrong food to our table and after setting it down proceeded to bring it to a different table. Ew.
So nice to go out to dinner and be able to have a conversation without noise. The food, absolutely delicious, so flavorful. Our go to and will keep going back.
Food was amazing! The beet appetizer was fabulous and the bread board was a big hit. The warm bread and homemade butter was great! The dinner we had was fresh and cooked perfectly.
Asked for pasta and duck appetizers to come out after salads, everything came out at once. We ordered 2 different salads and two of the same were brought out. We ate the pasta and duck first so as they didn't get cold, then when we started on the salads we noticed they were the same. This should Have been spotted by the server before it being brought out. We had the pork chop and steak as main dishes. They were delicious
I've never had a bad meal here, always excellent! It's one of my favorites in Montclair. I can always count on them to serve the best, interesting flavor combinations. Don't change a thing!!!
Excellent food as always, Chef came to table to explain certain things server could not. Pork chop is not to be missed; it's the only restaurant I trust with that dish!
Such a creative menu! I love the blending of traditional and new cuisine. Bev is a great chef and hostess. A great treasure in Montclair
The service was horrible and this was one of the worst meals of my life. They were understaffed and the cook was sick. Our appetizers came but an hour and a half passed without the entree. When we asked to cancel the order the server told us the cook was sick. As we were preparing to settle and leave the manager came out, yelled at us so people at other tables could hear, and slammed the bill on the table. We understand people get sick. But if they are running slow just tell us so we can decide whether to stay or not. But for the manager to yell at us was rude, unacceptable and ruined the evening. We will never go back there.
Gourmet quality, didn't know was BYOB. Felt bad for the one waitress working. Would think would be more busy on a Saturday for the level of food quality.
It took us three years of being in Montclair to find Walnut Street kitchen, but what a find! Probably the best meal we've had in town. Beats the pants off Halcyon and Faubourg for example . Delicious food, excellent sauces, creative combinations, beautiful garnishes with friendly , attentive service and generous desserts. Foodie heaven . Can't wait to go back.

Always a pleasant experience at WSK. The dishes are imaginative and artfully plated without pretension while skillfully merging ingredients from various cooking cultures. We dine out often and find Chef Beverly's cooking uniquely satisfying.
The food was good, no issue there. The restaurant was empty. We were a table of 5 and another table of 4 plus one other couple came in after us. The time it took to be served appetizers was too long and they all did not come out together. Then we waited another 1/2 hour for our main meal and they brought out 2, then 5 minutes later another 2 then the last one came out 5 minutes later. Then once we told the waitress we would never come back, the owner/chef came out to question us. She said since it is a weeknight it was only the 2 of them. Not right. Tell us before hand or staff up. She did take a few things off the bill as a concession. I will not go back.
Outstanding and brilliant service and food. The specials of the squash blossoms and scallion pancake were excellent! Jonas and Kate so personable and make you feel like family. Bev is a true master in the kitchen. This place never disappoints
such wonderful, innovative, and creative food, my kids loved everything they tried, from the octopus to the orange, cardamon, and olive oil cake. Our steak was cooked to perfection, and the chicken skewer's are to die for. Our server was very sweet and attentive and the owner is adorable. 10/10 highly recommend
The food was amazing. I took myself out for a me-date. I started with the orange mushroom “wings” and a crab cake special (two crab cakes drizzled with kewpie and okonomiyaki sauce) over peach-apple-fennel slaw. I came for the steak frites Friday. The blade steak was cooked medium-rare as ordered, served with duck fat fries, a wedge salad, and cider-sherry au poivre sauce. Dessert was to go for my husband and myself, going with the Thai tea tiramisu and the orange cardamom cake. The food is always sublime. Everything is so well-balanced. This is a great spot to take yourself to dinner or go for a date night.
