From the last time I ate there, 2 yrs ago the food has changed fish was ok, mac n cheese had no favor at all yams were good, hush puppies were nice n crispy on the outside mushy on the inside for the price the food to me should have been A+, can't go by the reviews all the time before the fish was on point

61 dollars spent on two meals and a fish sandwich. The fish was flavorless, absolutely no seasoning whatsoever. Thin pieces of fish just fried in oil-that’s it. Waste of time and money. I could've drove to Newark and got a platter of seasoned fish from the truck on Bergen Street for 40 dollars

Potato Salad and Yams were good. Porgies fish wasn't that great. Next time I will try the Whitey. Maybe that will be better. To add to this. I recently ordered the whitey fish sandwich and wasn't pleased with this either. I'll stick withe the sides if I ever decide to order again.

The potato salad tastes a warm hug from your favorite person! I must be honest, I love this place and everything on the menu. Unfortunately gentrification has not only taken a toll on the neighborhood but also the seasoning or lack thereof. That may be a problem for some but its perfect for those of us who actively watch our sodium intake. Nothing a little hot sauce can't fix although it's not needed in my opinion.
Parking: Parking is only available on the street which you have to pay for and it's pretty busy as far as traffic goes.

I wish I took pictures, but I was too hungry. Loved this place. We got crab cakes and whiting with greens. I had a side of potato salad. My husband loved the mac n cheese. True homemade cooking. The man behind the counter knew every one’s name that walked in which means they have REPEAT customers. We will be back!

WOW!!! What a decline in food quality. This is so disappointing after several years of patronage to report that the food now sucks. My goodness!!!...Tiny, OVERPRICED store bought frozen fish. The only thing good is the fish batter and potato salad. So sad ? This has become far to common with everything. I completely understand that prices have gone up but the quality took a deep deep dive...terrible.
