I was so excited to see they have soup dumplings. Very few places in this area have them. I ordered for takeout; when I opened the container when I got home I see shriveled up dumplings. There's no broth in these at all. The dumplings themselves had a good flavor but I'm just disappointed it wasn't soup dumplings at all.

Amazing dumplings! I never usually order veggie based dumplings but I decided to try a risk and they were just astounding.

I am very disappointed, I have been wanting to order from this place for a while and when I did I get raw meat in the dumplings.I ordered the noodles with pork the flavor was good but the noodles were over cooked! the pot stickers had raw pork on the inside and I ate one of them, I hope I don't get sick! the pan fried bao had a good flavor if it had more filling on the inside its basically dough with a teeny tiny meat on the inside. I also ordered something sweet but threw it away after discovering the raw pork in my food I couldn't eat anything afterwards.

I’ve been to beijing, China and has authentic food there, and when i tell you this tasted just like it, it was amazing! i got the soup dumplings and the scallion rice with scallion pancakes. everything was amazing and very tasty. great service too! i will be coming here for dumplings from now on!

Korean beef bao was burnt meat and bun. The bao was drenched in oil. The food handlers were using ungloved hands and opted to fool around than to prepare food. There was no other orders yet it took approximately 30 minutes to prepare some pork bao? The staff opted to be on their phones during our visit.

Midway through a pork dumpling, I noticed something hard and thought “probably a bit of bone.” It was plastic. Thick plastic. Larger than a nickel and jagged. I can understand one-off mistakes, but I went back to read other reviews online and saw others complaining about finding a “plastic cap” in a dumpling, so this is a sanitation and health issue. Cannot recommend. So glad I was the one who got the dagger dumpling instead of one of my kids.

Summary: A little hole in the wall soup dumpling and regular dumpling place. Don't think that you'll be full from one or two orders. Portions are small and really more of appetizer sizes. I was disappointed with the soup dumplings as they didn't have much soup in them. Also the wonton soup is good but not worth the price. During covid times, the restaurant practiced safety precautions where staff wore masks, plexi glass barriers were present, and hand sanitizer was provided.I ordered takeout from here for the first time because of all the positive reviews. Gotta say I wasn't satisfied with my order. I could tell that everything is homemade which is great but not the best I've had. We ordered 2 orders of the soup dumplings and one order of the wonton soup, total cost was about $25. As mentioned, the soup dumplings didn't have much soup in them. And only having 6 small soup dumplings per order didn't fill us up at all. I will give them credit for the thoughtful packaging, putting each soup dumpling in individual tins so the soup doesn't leak everywhere, but there wasn't any soup to leak. We ordered the wonton soup too thinking that may fill us up but nope, the soup was only a pint container for $7!! Yikes. Would have been cheaper to order wonton soup at a regular Chinese restaurant. The soup and wontons tasted great but not worth the $7 unfortunately. Wait time was about 20 minutes. I wonder how the other items on the menu are but sad to say I probably won't be coming back.

Not the dumplings I was hoping for. Ordered take out because craving soup dumplings. Dumplings stuck together and fell apart. Flavor was a bit off, not authentic asian food.

In order to fully understand and appreciate all the thought, care and craft that goes into making something as wonderful as a good soup dumpling, you must first experience the most awful and poorly prepared soup dumpling you can. To that end I direct you to Elyssia's "Kitchen" This is hands down the worst place I have ever eaten in this area and that includes Villa Victoria (see my earlier review on that local gem). In fact I am having trouble remembering the last time I had a worse experience anywhere in the world. We had Thai Ice tea, Beef Bao, Scallion Pancakes, Beef Bulgogi and two orders of the Pork Soup Dumplings, one of which went straight to the trash and the Red Bean Dessert Dumplings. The Bao. This was ok but was a bit too sweet. It was however the star of this show in that it was the only thing that didn't make me wonder how far away the nearest bathroom was. The Scallion Pancakes. These almost made me cry. The dough appeared to be under cooked, as in I can still taste the flour. Inside there was NO scallion. A few precious wedges had a few emerald like jewels of tasty green scallion, but in truth they weren't that tasty. They were just green. We were starving so I made it through more than one of these floppy unloved triangles and realized that they most resembled Mission brand Low Carb tortilla shells that had been folder over and fried. And then inexplicably steamed because they were in no way crisp. Just wet sad soggy little beings. Like an infant with a full diaper. The Beef Bulgogi. The very first bite of these made me ask my girlfriend if these were OK. They weren't awful but they were in no way anything anyone should be happy to present to a customer. They weren't soggy like their buddies in the scallion pancake box but they were greasy and heavy and not something I am happy I ate. In fact if I weren't trying to warn you, I'd never volunteer that I actually ate these things. The Soup Dumplings. These were wrong on so many levels. First each one was served in its own little aluminum cup inside a larger aluminum dish, to-go style. We were sitting in the restaurant. Strike one. The tops of the pastry were dry and tough and the bottoms of the pastry were so damp that they barely held their shape. The flavor had hints of licorice (!?) and was overall on a sour note. And I do not mean the flavorful sour associated with this dish, they just tasted off. Again the dough somehow seemed both over AND undercooked as it was tough but also I could still taste the flour. The Red Bean Dumplings. These little things were nothing more than the same sadass aforementioned pastry misused on everything else so far but this time stuffed with what tasted like Goya red bean paste from a can that they added sugar to and then fried and served with a little plastic cup of powdered sugar. The Thai Iced Tea. I still don't know what the hell that was but it was orange, sickly and so sweet I probably won't sleep until three days from now. The "food" was all prepared in plain sight by high school kids who clearly did not take their job seriously. One of them knocked a container of powdered sugar over and a pile of sugar landed on the floor right in front of the register. She giggled and did nothing to clean up the mess. At all. It stayed on the floor for the rest of our time in this "restaurant". That level of care and pride in your restaurant was apparent in every single thing you did to make and sell the food you served us. This was such a poor attempt at making asian food that pictures of our meal should be Story of the Month on Pinstrosity. Honestly this stuff was prepared by people who have never even seen real Dim Sum let alone tasted it. Do your selves a big favor and just do not eat here. I feel like my stomach and intestines should be power washed after misusing them so badly.

Just wasted $60 on the worst food imaginable! So bad that I just threw most of it away. Even the soy sauce sucked! How is that even possible??? Soup dumplings that were beyond dry and tasted like rancid pork with licorice. Flavorless, limp scallion pancakes. Red bean dumplings that tasted like canned Heinz beans mixed with sugar and fried in a burrito. Thai iced tea that was painfully sweet. The only palatable thing was the bottled water! I just hope my boyfriend and I don't get food poisoning from the couple things we tasted before throwing it away. My stomach is already doing flips. Anyone who thinks this food is good has obviously never eaten dim sum or anything even close to it. A packet of ramen noodles eaten dry is light-years better than anything I just ate! Wow that was terrible!

The food is still good, which kept this at a one star review, rather than a zero star. However the service has dropped off significantly. It is no longer the restaurant I remember. The order I placed via phone was not what was received. The individual answering the phone didn’t take my name which led to confusion upon arrival. A ginger scallion fried rice with NO egg for my vegan eater turned into a pork fried rice WITH egg. They were also unable to add tofu to a fried rice order (after receiving a positive confirmation on the phone) which is a very simple ask and always accepted at other establishments. My vegan eater now has to order from another place tonight.I miss the charm and service that Elyssia’s offered and won’t be back until it regains that.

We just showed up to pick up our order after the 40 minute wait we were told. Once we got there the staff kept saying 10 more minutes, 4 more minutes, 2 more minutes. Eventually we waited a combined TWO HOURS for 4 small items! When we got home 2 items were cold and the scallion pancakes were burnt. The overall taste of the food was not even good. The dumplings are mediocre. Just go to H-Mart or 99 Ranch for frozen dumplings and they will taste better. We will not be going back here!

Just finished a fabulous meal from Elyssia Kitchen. My family and I had a craving for dumplings tonight decided to give it a try. It did not disappoint, but the steam dumplings and the potstickers were delicious. The kimchi pork potstickers and the Korean beef bao were my favorites, while my daughter and husband liked the steamed chicken & corn dumplings & the bulgogi best. The dessert dumplings were ridiculous- in a good way! Delish all around!
