This was the first time my wife & I dined here, and I can see everything was great from the food to the service. We went there for are 37th wedding anniversary, and will be back .Thank you for a very enjoyable evening.
First and likely last time visiting. We chose this restaurant because the OpenTable app listed a menu that included a veal chop, and it was only a 3-minute walk from the Wellmont Theater. However, when we arrived, we were handed a completely different menu—no veal chop at all. Disappointing, but we decided to stay. My date ordered a dinner salad with grilled chicken, only to be told they only had breaded chicken available. I asked if they could substitute a plain chicken breast, and they said all the chicken was pre-breaded. I then asked if they could wash off the breadcrumbs before cooking, and they told us the kitchen was too busy to accommodate the request. There were other minor issues as well—for example, the staff repeatedly pushed alcoholic drinks on us even after I said we don't drink. They also brought over a bottle of water we never ordered. Overall, the experience felt inflexible and inattentive. We won't be returning. .
Appetizer artichoke was not cooked. Leaves were hard to remove. We noticed another table had the Artichoke app returned Item was not removed from check. They charged me for something that we didn't order. Did not notice till after it was paid. Dinner was $300 not a good value 2-Fish Bronzino and flounder was very salty. And a pasta dish. Surprised. We have dined there at least 6 times And have never had a bad experience. Over priced. Service was okay. Please let the Chef know.
Made an early Sat evening reservation as I know it gets crazy busy. Food was excellent. Servers were very nice & helpful. However, every round of drink orders came over either one short or incorrect. Had to flag down for missing drink, missing coffee, missing baileys Coffee was cold by the time the milk was brought to table. Numerous servers kept coming over, trying to clear our table every three minutes when we were still eating the appetizers. Definitely felt rushed.
Wait staff very attentive.. Food was exceptional .highly recommend the Lumache The ambience was inviting .enjoyed a nice bottle of Sangiovese. Would recommend if you are in Montclair
When we looked at the website, we should have been able to figure out that this place wasn't for us—they have a restaurant, a bar, and a lounge. The lounge should have been a red flag. The bar is tiny and overcrowded. If you're not sitting at the bar which has about 8 seats, you have to stand behind it or in the doorway leading to the restaurant. You also have to wait for someone to come to you to place your drink order. There's a small seating area in the front that can be reserved for groups. If that's booked, it fills up and there aren't enough drink menus to go around. The restaurant was full and we had a reservation for 8:45. It looked like there was a birthday party for a middle schooler booked and that took up about a third of the dining room. The tables are cramped and when people are shouting at each other over the dance music that's playing, you can't hear the person you're dining with. We ended up ordering two drinks and then cutting our losses. We didn't want to cut the staff short on a reserved table for two, but the place was absolutely unbearable. If you're looking for a night out with a group of friends, maybe I'd recommend this place. If you want to actually spend an evening with someone you enjoy, I would find another spot.
I organized a surprise dinner party to celebrate my mother’s 60th birthday, and it turned out to be a truly wonderful evening. I had 13 guests, and everything went exactly as planned. Kelly, the event planner, played a key role in ensuring the success of the event. She guided me through every step of the process, addressing all my questions and concerns with care. Her prompt and clear communication made the planning experience smooth and enjoyable. Kelly gave guidance and suggestion on the menu and even suggested flowers and table decorations, which added a special touch to the evening.
The servers were outstanding—professional, attentive, and friendly—making sure everything ran smoothly. The food was excellent, everyone complimented the food, especially the rigatoni pasta. It was a great evening spent with family and friends, and I’m grateful to Kelly and the staff at Fresco da Franco that helped make it such a special birthday for mother.

We had dinner last night with friends and the food was very tasty. However, the portions were VERY small and we felt extremely rushed. They would literally pass through constantly asking if the plates could be taken or just taking them with food still on them. We would have to say STOP we aren’t done multiple times. It’s not like the restaurant was even full. Plenty of empty tables. We will not be going back. Oh and valet is $15 and when you are done eating you go get your car. That’s not valet to me. We will not be going back.

Dined here for Thanksgiving with my family. My wife had been here before and I was a little skeptical because of its review rating but was pleasantly surprised. I will say that the service was top notch and our server Jason was outstanding.

Below are our thoughts from our recent visit for my niece's 25th birthday (revised as restaurant did address some concerns we had).
Food: 4.5 stars, we were very happy with the menu and food was very tasty
Price was very reasonable
Wait staff: 5 stars, they were friendly, attentive, and covered for each other
Ambiance: stick to downstairs and I think it would be great (we were seated upstairs due to a party downstairs, and had recommendations on things that need to be improved)
Management: room for improvement with feedback the restaurant has heard from us. In the end we're not trying to damage their success, either they will address the issues and do great or will struggle with patrons (and staff) choosing to go elsewhere. Hopefully it's the former and they celebrate many future successful years in town.

My boyfriend and I had a date night there on 11/16 and everything was just perfect. Our waiter, Yunes was absolutely wonderful. Very friendly, polite and the perfect level of attentiveness. Our appetizers and entrees were so delicious! So much so that would couldn’t do dessert unfortunately. I would definitely go there again. The ambiance, food and service was well worth our time and every penny!

10/10 dining experience with amazing service, ambiance, and cocktails. Our server, Yunes, went above and beyond to create an amazing experience for us and was truly such a gentleman. We will definitely be returning and requesting Yunes again. He was the best.
