Service was good, waiters were attentive, drinks were good, food was good. All of that wants you to go back again. I also have to mention about the place where it is located is very desirable to sit and eat, and walk around, makes it inviting to go there.

While the service was not terrible and no one was rude, I requested decor for my anniversary and even called various times and no one answered. The day of, it was not there and we were given a table next to the kitchen. The food was very expensive and the menu was different from what I saw online. I would not recommend this restaurant for the price.

I have been to Frescos multiple times and every time the food and service becomes less than mediocre and not worth the expense, when there are many other fine dining places locally. After having been seated for 20+ minutes, we had to flag a waiter to give us menus, take drink order and discuss specials. Additionally, a part of our appetizer arrived mid-way during our main dinner being served.

Went here on a Friday night with friends for a birthday and the experience for the price spent was disappointing. I do want to start out by saying that the server was nice and sweet and gave attention to our table. The drinks are pricey and ok, nothing special at all. The appetizers were the best part. They were very delicious. When it came to the dinner entrees, everyone at our table of 5 were disappointed, except for 1 person. When they brought my food out, it was the wrong dish. We had begun eating already, and when I realized that the pasta didn't have the right meat inside, I asked the waiter if it was pork and it was. This was very disappointing as I don't eat pork. They eventually brought my correct food out, but it was frustrating to be served a food item that had pork on it. They said they would let us keep the other dish, which was obvious as we already started eating from it. They offered us free cannolis for the mistake and those were just ok and not that great. It was very disappointing that they didn't at least offer to comp my meal for their mistake. Their minimal effort to correct their mistake, along with the average entrees and drinks is why I rated our time there as two stars.

My wife and I came here a few years ago and we had a great time and the food tasted fresh, had a presentation, and was made in a reasonable amount of time. However it seems these basic things fell to the bottom of their priority list. Food had no flavor, my chicken tasted dry and came cold and the mashed potatoes tasted like it came from a bag. My wife had a shrimp scampi that lacked the proper amount of shrimp and they only put sauce in the middle of the plate so everything around it tasted dry and stale. The staff was nice, including the hostess and the manager that took care of the bill. Also, drinks were good which is always a plus. Word of advice, get back to the food part of this restaurant. Get back to making quality food and leave the “nightlife” scene alone.
A gem in the heart of Montclair- Authentic Italian food - great atmosphere and amazing Italian style service - our waitress Laura welcomed us as we were family members - loved speaking Italian with her - Truly enjoyed our experience at DaFranco and highly recommend it - we will certainly be coming coming back !! Amazing customer service. I got the gnocchi and rigatoni dish, as well as the meatball appetizer. They were each gorgeous in terms of presentation, and while they all shined in their own way, I found the gnocchi to be very rich. Overall, would highly recommend.

Bar Franco is my togoto when I can’t travel to Positano or the Amalfi Coast. The ambiente evokes great memories of my affluent youth in Europe when we drove to Italy in our Autobianchi A112 and Mini Innocenti…Decades ago… After setting the bill I pretend to go to the beach and order my Campari Soda and look at the sunset… Just dreaming…LOL
