Greek Taverna - Montclair

The food was great and everyone loved all of the foods we tried. We had mousakka, octopus, gyro, lamb and fish. Everything was fresh and delicious. We were celebrating a birthday and they surprised us with a delicious chocolate cake. Lovely and attentive service.

Food & service were both excellent. Didn't actually need a reservation for a Sunday evening.

Was there on a weekday evening which was more on the quiet side. Service and food were both great and we opted to share small plates which was perfect for us! Standouts were the halloumi and the moussaka. Will definitely be back!

We had the best experience at Greek Taverna, and plan to have our sons christening party there in a couple of months. The manager, owner, and all staff are so kind, and the foods delicious!

Nice food, especially the seafood...fresh and nicely prepared, especially the mixed appetizer of grill calamari, octopus and shrimps....DELICIOUS..... the waiter was exceptionally nice and cordial. There is plenty of parking.

Went to Greek Taverna for lunch as always the service the food and the ambience are wonderful and they have a great lunch special Never disappoints will continue to go back

This restaurant is very well nice. The staff was and service was impeccable. The food was more than what we expected and the flavor was amazing! I highly recommend trying the Greek Taverna, they do not disappoint.

We reserved a table of 8 for 11:30 on a Saturday morning. It was quiet and the wait staff were very welcoming. Our food came quickly and it was delicious. Great choices from the lunch special menu- all served with fries (fried potato chips)- gyro sandwiches, falafel sandwiches, chicken wrap and a shrimp wrap. The seafood appetizer was fresh and flavorful. The complimentary cookies at the end of the meal were delicious.

Came to Montclair for a Daryl Hall concert at the Wellmont. The Taverna is a short walk from the theatre. The staff welcomed us and answered all our questions about the menu. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. I had the large prawns, DELICIOUS! Came with a rice pilaf and fresh veggies.My wife had Chicken kabobs,cooked perfectly, friends had a fish dish they really enjoyed. Outside seating available. Free parking, and you can BYOB! This Greek restaurant knows how to reel you in for another visit. I ordered a chicken souvlaki platter, and tzatziki dip. I was blown away by how flavorful it all was, especially the chicken! The chicken was so soft and not chewy at all. The rice was the best i’ve ever had, so tasty! And the tzatziki? literally my favorite! It’s the perfect complement to everything. Once you add it to your dish it’s like a tiny Greek party, and everyone’s invited! If you don’t visit you’re seriously missing out on some soul satisfying food!
