We absolutely love Walnut Street Kitchen. Cannot recommend coming here for dinner enough. The food is incredible. The chef is so unbelievably talented. The bread, beet salad, pork chop and olive oil cake are not to be missed. Make this your next night out. ?❤️?

Food was a mixed bag. The appetizer (beet salad) was very good though the portion was very small. The main course (duck) was fair. The duck was accompanied by a mediocre “fruit salad” and was not well cooked (the skin was not crispy). Dessert - Thai tea tiramisu was tasty. There was one waitress covering the entire restaurant and while she was very friendly she was totally overwhelmed and the service was extremely slow.

We love this BYOB! The place is very cozy and displays local artists work. The food is made with love by Chef Beverly and is always so yummy! It is for foodies who are open to new flavors and dining experience.

A wonderful BYO gem in upper Montclair. The food was inventive and delicious. Our waitress was lovely, though the dishes are a bit slow to come out. The only downside is a strange and high ‘service fee' that appeared on our bill, perhaps a holdover from COVID given it's a small operation.

My husband and I dined here for a day-after Valentine's celebration. Our 7:00 reservation allowed us to be seated right away. The playlist was stellar. It was all the music I grew up listening to as a kid, and it made me feel at home. McKenzie was our server and she was incredibly professional, kind, and attentive. The menu has so many great choices, but the specials shouldn't be slept on either! Here's what we had: Appetizers: -Brussels sprouts salad with sliced apple, marinated feta, roasted squash, candied pecans, quinoa and tossed in a vinaigrette - Kabocha squash ravioli in a braised beef and peanut ragu, crispy eggplant and a peanut-green bean crumble. Entrées: -Flat iron steak in a mustard-sherry au poive sauce, carmelized onions, and potato churritos -Fresh cavatelli in an escargot sauce, shelled escargot, topped with a parsley butter crumb - Side of sautéed wild mushrooms with sage and citrus Dessert: -Orange and cardamom olive oil cake, assorted coffee and tea. The food was stunning. Every bite was a hit and truly made with love. Such thoughtful flavor combinations and interesting applications, all the while cooked perfectly. We had the opportunity to speak with Beverly, and we learned so much about her passions for the industry and the pride she has for the products she creates. We will certainly be back again and again!

Why must we leave feeling hungry? A $36 Flat Iron Steak, very tasty, but 5 slices of steak and four shoe strings of potatoe. Really? Potatoes, string beans, squash are almost free at the supermarket. $175 bill for three people who go home hungry. You can do better.

Food was great, however, it was overshadowed by the poor service and attitude. We booked an early 5:30 dinner with our two young well behaved kids for my husband's birthday but since the beginning and all through out the night we were reminded of how unwelcome we are (families). It was a complete disappointment and conflicts with the inclusiveness of what I thought Montclair stood for. Left a sour taste in our mouths going home. Won't go back again.

Love this place! We had an amazing dinner, katie our server, was fabulous and very attentive. The grill octopus was perfection, and the escargot cavatelli is now my new favorite pasta dish. Run, don't walk to this place!

My date had the duck with crispy skin and it did not disappoint. We started with a seasonal salad, which was great. I had the mushroom risotto. The serving sizes were adequate and the food was delicious. The setting was quite romantic. I will definitely go back!

The food was delicious! We started with the bread board, beet salad & octopus followed by the pork chop that was unbelievable with bok choy. We had the cheesecake for dessert which I thought was eh & a very small portion. The bagels to go was super nice!

Maybe an anomaly because it was New Year's Eve but we stood idly for about 25 minutes waiting for a table even though we had a reservation. Once we sat down, the server was obviously flustered and exhausted from how busy it was. They also ran out of one of the main courses which was the item we both really wanted!

Executive Chef-Partner Beverly Lacsina and works hard at her craft, executing flavor packed internationally influenced dishes. Good service and a laid back atmosphere where music keeps the mood upbeat yet casual and sophisticated.

Food, service, atmosphere awesome! I've been here several times and my favorite dish is the flank steak! Always cooked to perfection. The arugula or beet salads are also favorites. Never rushed! The owner chef Bev always comes out to ask how things were. It's also a BYOB which makes it even better.

The meatball side was delicious. Everything else our party of 4 ordered was average at best. We ordered more meatballs to try and counteract the entrees. The servings were quite small, and the food was just not great. We will not go back.

Update: Harvey's actually had a change-of-management and goes by a different name now. The period of time I referred to in my initial review where the bagels were spectacular, that was the original Harvey's. The bad bagels started after the change of management. Thus, I have updated my review to 5 stars because that's what Harvey's deserves. Really unfortunate to see what has happened :/
