Jalwa is such a hidden gem! It might look unassuming, but it serves some of the best Indian food I’ve ever had — second only to my mom’s cooking. I keep coming back and am never disappointed.

This time we ordered the chole and shahi paneer — absolutely phenomenal. And fair warning: their naans are massive! One is more than enough for 2–3 people.

The staff is always so warm and welcoming, which makes the whole experience even better. Love, love, love this place!

Cozy little Indian restaurant with amazing food. You will be definitely surprised by the taste they offer here. The owner Mr Uday is well spoken and takes great care of his customers.

Jalwa is one of my favorite restaurants in Montclair! There are so many different offerings all of which are fresh, delicious, and satisfying. Service is always kind and efficient and the atmosphere is elevated yet comfortable.

But the customer service was really bad ,even though they had less customers ,they weren't attentive ,neither had a smile.
Would never go there just because of the attitude that they show towards the customers.

We’ve loved Jalwa since we moved to town, but the prices have just gotten out of control and the portions are getting wildly small. We just paid $28 for chicken tikka and counted eight small pieces of chicken in a giant vat of sauce. With so many other good options in town, it’s hard to justify continuing to order from here.
