Great food, terrible service. Doesn’t matter how far in advance you order, they will always take their sweet time working on your order. It didn’t used to be like this; before there would maybe be a 5 minute delay. But now? People have waited 2+ hours for their food. What happened? Understaffed? New management? Either way, the service here leaves a lot to be desired.

Same as the last reviewer, my order took 2 hours before it was ready. I ordered at 2:06PM. Order was ready at 4:16PM. I spoke with someone to try and get a refund around 3:15PM because I had to leave since I have classes Wednesday from 3:30PM to 8:05PM.
The app wasn’t allowing me to cancel my order even though it wasn’t being prepared yet. I have to speak to someone about a refund again.
I always see the employees working hard, so I can’t even be upset. I think it’s an issue with the online ordering system which is probably controlled by corporate. Corporate probably expects workers to make orders in 5 minutes or less.
If you’re ordering from here anytime between 10AM and 3PM, keep in mind your order is probably going to be ready anywhere from 1 to 2 hours later. Try not to order here past 3PM. It’s stressful for workers and customers to do so.

I would like to raise a concern about the food service today. I placed an order at 1:00 PM, but it was not ready until around 3:05 PM over two hours later. While waiting that long is frustrating for anyone, I am especially concerned about students, professors, or individuals with health conditions who may need food at a specific time. It is discouraging that something as essential as a meal takes this long to receive, and I believe this is an issue that should be taken into serious consideration. Long wait times like this negatively affect the entire community, and I hope improvements can be made moving forward.

I'm a student and usually this panera doesn't give me much of an issue. however, today i waited 1.5 hours for my sandwhich and side of soup. they were out of their side of bread so i got chips. the guy at the front told me they no longer have turkey so i got ham on my sandwich instead, he was nice about it though. then the food comes out. the soup was goopy and lukewarm. my sandwich had a bread that tasted sweet, almost like a cinnamon raisin bread. and mind you it was a ham and cheese sandwich. then i went to eat the chips and they have been expired for about a month. today is 8/29 and the first day of classes. the people next to me had a hole burn through their cup because their coffee was so hot. also they stopped taking orders an hour before closing because they ran out of all their bread and other things. not good.

Google said they close at 5. The sign up front said they close at 5. I walk in at 3:10 and the woman tells me they have a new schedule and now close at 3pm. Not good business practice.

People waiting over 90mins and still not getting food is unacceptable The fact that Montclair State allows this cafe to operate in this manner is an insult to the community.
Order in advance go to pick up 30mins later and still end up waiting 15 more. Unless you have an extra hr to wait, go somewhere else.

I order three things at 12 pm and it’s been 40 minutes. This isn’t the first time and it’s ridiculous and tiring. I have class soon and because of their long wait time I either can’t eat or am late for class. 👎🏼

I’m a very understanding person considering I work in fast food but there should not be hour waits. I’m not going to blame the staff but I will blame management. Something needs to be done to help with the overcrowding and multitude of orders. Today I overheard a man behind the counter state they had 70 orders. I can only imagine how long it would take to complete all of them. However I feel bad for the staff, they probably get blamed for things like this that they can’t control. So management step up and help them because an hour and a half wait is ridiculous. Please just heads up if you want to eat a sandwich or anything from here, order at least 2 hours ahead of time if you want to walk in and it be done on time.
