Pineapple Express Barbecue Reviews
Love it there for sure . Great vibes and food and drinks. There is one thing I don’t like about this place their parking if for whatever reason you do not have or missed or can not used your phone to pay for the parking instead of a$6 parking space you’ll get a ticket from this private company the owner of this parking lot and they send you a $104 fee insanely high !! Taking advantage of the people and technically 3 times the fee of a larking ticket you’ll get from the Montclair...read full review
Drove over an hour to visit and it did not disappoint! It’s hard to find a full gluten free establishment and they completely nailed it! The 1/2 yardbird pieces were deliciously crunchy and seasoned. The crispy chicken sandwich was amazing! The ‘naughty’ waffle fries were a fun twist to the ordinary waffle fries. Fried pickle spears were so tasty. OMG and cannot forget the cornbread! The cornbread was the size of a mega muffin and so flavorful!
Huge bonus… GF beer...read full review

Pineapple Express Barbecue offers good food, slightly pricey. The brisket is fatty awesomeness, and the fried pickled spears are also awesome. This restaurant serves authentic Austin-style BBQ, featuring great pork ribs, beef brisket, salad, and cornbread. The staff is attentive and courteous, with many customers noting their kindness. The chefs prepare delicious meals, including crispy fries, savory mac and cheese, and juicy fried chicken tenders. While some prefer lean ribs over brisket, opinions on mac 'n cheese vary, and the cornbread is described as more of a cornbread muffin with a different flavor profile than the usual soft, square version. The atmosphere is lively, with options for enjoying music, trivia, or board games, making it a popular spot. Guests appreciate the rustic vibe, friendly staff, and plenty of street parking. Orders are placed at the counter, which can be seen as a pro or con depending on preferences. However, some customers mention that the food can take a long time to be ready and is somewhat overpriced. There have been issues with drink service and refills, and one customer received a frozen lemonade with alcohol when they requested a non-alcoholic drink. The food quality receives mixed reviews; some find the fried chicken sandwich slightly pink but safe, and others find the loaded waffle fries too oily. Despite these concerns, Pineapple Express Barbecue remains a favorite for its good food, lively environment, and casual, bar-like atmosphere, especially enjoyed during trivia nights.
