This place has always been good to me. Good quality and good food. This has been such a disappointment. I wanted this for a couple days now. I don’t live near this place. I complained and the person in charge said this was how it’s supposed to look. Queso is supposed to be thick.

Do not sleep in this place! I almost gave up on eating out because the food as been subpar, expensive, small portions and horrible customer service. Playa Taqueria is on point! Great size portions, quality food and the flavors blend so well. You have happiness with every bite!! Definitely worth anyone's hard earned money!! Also excellent customer service!! Playa is my go to when I get off the train and don't want to cook or have anything in my refrigerator. I love their nachos, but I have also tried the shortrib tacos (yummy), the quesadillas and burritos. The portions are decent sized, tasty and fresh. The staff is nice and helpful if you have a question or need a suggestion. I first discovered them at the annual sidewalk sale. I am a fan of Playa Taqueria

Best Mexican spot in Montclair! EVERYTHING is delicious and made fresh to order. The short rib tacos and churro cookies are my go-to but you can't go wrong with their menu. Customer service is 10/10, they even threw in extra food when our order had a slight mixup. A must try, cannot recommend this place enough!

The place is very small. Its cute for the space and kept clean. The food was delicious. I ordered a burrito with longaniza a spanish sausage. I was excited to see it on the menu. It was big burrito and nicely seasoned. I had the tres leches lime dessert it was so good. I would definitely recommend this place. Its a hike from Woodbridge but worth going again for the longaniza.

Fantastic hidden gem. Everything we had was tasty and fresh. Birria burrito, birria quesadilla, shrimp quesadilla, and short rib bowl were all awesome. Definitely will be going back again and again. Great value as well.

Delicious Mexican food!! So tasty and you can definitely taste the quality of the ingredients! We meant to try that spot for a while and we were not disappointed! The place is so cute and I got a warm welcome when I came in. We got the quesadilla short rib suadero and the bowl pollo adobado. So yummy at every single bite! Already wanna go back!!

We were passing through Upper Montclair, where we lived for eight years back in the 80s-90s, and I found this adorable taqueria on Google maps for a quick lunch stop.
We were both in the mood for a salad bowl and vegetables so the camote (sweet potato bowl) spoke to us. One had rice and greens, the other just greens. It tasted so good and fresh; the potatoes roasted and seasoned perfectly. I’d say portions are generous as neither of us could finish.
The owner and staff couldn’t have been friendlier and we were served promptly. Last but not least, their prices are so reasonable—$11 per bowl and we could’ve chosen chicken at no additional cost. That’s an all-around great dining experience.
PS my husband commented that the rice was especially good.
