We got the fiche, arancini, gnocchi, side of meatballs, and limoncello cake. Everything was delicious and the portions weren’t overwhelming. The side of two meatballs was a recommendation and we are glad we took it - they were huge!

Immediately welcoming on a very busy night, with fast service and delicious food. The pasta and seafood dish I had was exceptional.

The appearance on the outside is not very inviting with furniture and heat lamps stacked up in front of the Restaurant. They had a private party going on and I went on Mother's Day so it was extremely busy. Old and outdated setting not classic. The Host was also taking everyone's order. Everyone's pasta at my table was undercooked and even raw. I told the Host but he never apologized for it or even offered to take something off the bill. They were out of a few things and the menu was altered from the one I originally viewed on their website over a week ago. Which was Not Good!!! I will never go back their again.

I've always liked the atmosphere of Salute's and decided to try it again after not going for a few years. I was a bit disappointed at how quiet it was on a Friday night. The food was good, not great as others have noted. The menu was a bit non-traditional, which in an up-and-coming eclectic restaurant can be special, but I don't think they pull it off. My wife had a hard time finding something that worked and ended up with a salad with chicken. I ordered chicken arrabiata because I love spicy dishes, but it underwhelmed. No texture, the sauce was like a soup. Our burrata crostini appetizers were great. The service was attentive, and other than being largely empty, the room is great (perhaps too many large tables vs. what I remember). When the patio doors are open it can be a beautiful setting. I truly hope the restaurant does well and have bumped my rating a star in support, but they really have to fix a few things - starting with the $11 still water. High-end places get away with that, but that's not where Salute is right now. I think they need to lower prices a tad and deliver a bit more of a traditional menu to bring back repeat local clientele - but that's one opinion.

Went in early on a Thursday for our daughter's birthday (party of 3), about 6 tables were filled. One nice waiter. He let us know the pizza oven was broken and they were out of a few things on their short menu, and we ordered. Took 40 minutes to get our appetizers because they "ran out of arancini and had to make more" (probably gave ours away since we saw them going to other tables). Place filled up with about 20 tables, most large parties. STILL ONE WAITER. You know that point where the wait gets so long that it's comical and you start thinking you should just leave and eat somewhere else because it would be faster?? We got there about an hour and a half after we ordered. Waiter promised food was actually cooking and brought it out a few minutes later. Food was meh - pasta was basic, branzino skin wasn't crisp. We skipped the birthday dessert because it would have been cruel to the waiter to order more. Waiter was worked waaaayyyy too hard, and the hostess just sat there doing nothing and enjoying the show. If you can charge $25 for pasta you should be able to afford enough staff, or don't take the reservations. Won't be back.

Can’t speak to the price because I was here for a private event but holy lord, the food was amazing! And it’s such a nice little corner place. Every brick reminds you this place has stories to tell!

The menu was extremely limited when we went there and a lot more expensive. Pizzas were delicious. Menus were dated Winter 2021

I was excited to try their artichoke flour pizza but was a bit disappointed. 22.00 for a gluten free personal size pizza and I know I ordered prosciutto on it but it was really salty and tasted a bit strange. I didn't complain because I hadn't eaten all day and was so hungry. My husband ordered the orecchiette pasta dish and said mine was so much better. So we paid a lot of money for mediocre food. Our server was attentive so that was nice.

First the good. Great pasta fagioli. Nice barata with eggplant caponata- though smaller portion than I expected for the price. Waitress was responsive and nice. Now the bad— prices feel 15-20% higher than other, better local options. Wanted to eat outside (table was set out there and it was 45 minutes before closing.) We were told no. Inside acoustics make it brutal In terms of sound volume. Charging 4% to use a credit card adds insult to injury. Part of a restaurant group that owns multiple locations in Montclair. Paying a hefty price for their overhead

New owners and hostess are the most rude. We had a 7.30 reservation and would not give answer for seating time. Said the table was there at 5 and still had more than an hour. Not once apologized and tried to curse me for even questioning . Could not pay me to eat there.

Great local spot for Italian Food! My grandson's and I came for the first time and the service was great! My favorites are the calamari and margarita pizza!! Delicious! The short rib ravioli and cheese were okay. Next time I will try something different. If you are ever in the area check this spot out!! Pay cash or debit! Credit Card payment incur a 3.99% fee!!

I've been here before and love the food, but some Spanish girl we didn't see thru the whole meal asked if we wanted desert after we left the money on the table when we said no,she snatched the money off the table without saying thank you as if she were pissed off. Rude Rude Rude. Hey owner teach your people some manners,I almost took the money back to reverse the tip,my wife stoped me.

Have been to Salute multiple times and it is wonderful. Beautiful rustic atmosphere, nice staff, simply delicious food. From everything to appetizers, salads the rosemary bread I would highly recommend Salute and will be back. Will note there’s a credit card fee but this hasn’t been an issue. Byob and outdoor dining is nice.
