Sunrise bagels is best bagel shop! I have been coming here for over 20 years, and they always have the best bagels. Even though I don’t live as close as I used to, I take a few dozen home and freeze them, and they are so delicious, like I just brought them home! If you are looking for a great bagel, this is the place to go!

I ordered a bacon egg and cheese and it was actually decent. However, the staff there were really rude, even disrespectful and 1 kept looking at me all weird. And I had been nothing but polite. Had it been a different day there would have been problems but I was trying to be civilized. Especially in a decent town like Montclair, where I've done some concrete work before. I don't care how good the is food, which it was subpar anyways. 1 star is too good, honestly. Never again!

Convenience is the only selling point here. The bagels are mediocre at best, and they rarely get the order right. To make matters worse, the fruit I ordered last time was spoiled. Given the better alternatives in the area, there isn't much reason to come back. Two stars only because it’s edible.

This was my second time ordering here, and while the food itself was cooked well, my platter was missing the breakfast potatoes. I ordered the platter specifically for the potatoes, since they aren’t offered separately online or with other dishes. Unfortunately, I didn’t realize until I got home (over 15 minutes away) that they weren’t included. It was disappointing because I essentially paid more to assemble my own sandwich without cheese and without the potatoes I was looking forward to. I really enjoy the food here, but small mistakes like this make the experience less enjoyable.

Both Google and Apple maps say they are open until 5pm on Sundays. This was the only bagel shop that seemed to be open so I rounded up the whole family and we arrived at 3:58.
After entering the store and standing around for a few minutes an employee comes out from the back, tersely points up at some sign, and says “We’re closed”. I said “doesn’t it close at 5?” and he said “it’s Sunday” as if it’s obvious their Google and Apple Maps entries are both incorrect.
Please, just fix your Google and Apple maps pages so that no one else wastes their own time. Then I’ll remove this review.

An everything bagel here is just a plain bagel with a little bit of everything seasoning on top. No texture. Not authentic New Jersey style. Maybe they have some other menu items that are good, but I judge a bagel place by their everything bagels.

I ordered a bagel with egg salad and the egg salad was rancid. What kind of shop are they running that on a Saturday morning the egg salad is bad. On top of that the other order I placed they got it wrong. How? They write it down. Every other time I am in this place they get my order wrong. Guess I have to start driving to Bloomfield avenue for bagels.

Try not to leave negative reviews, but there were so many errors ordering here.
Asked for toasted everything w/ bacon, egg, and cheese, and as I ordered a woman came in saying they messed up her order. Her bagel wasn’t even completely wrapped and they were confused about the mess up. Everything took too long.
I then came home and unwrapped, instead of my order, lightly toasted plain bagel with cream cheese. Nope.

This place is pretty filthy. Do yourself a favor - look INSIDE the case - look in all the corners, look at the undersides of the shelves. Check out the tables - always covered with crumbs and debris. Look at the floor. Look at the bathroom. Then imagine what it's like behind the counter. It will make you want to vomit and never eat there again. I struggle because it's the most convenient bagel shop to me - but I finally decided I've had enough. All the one star reviews on here are very telling.

I love their BEC's - went here a lot as a kid and it still remains one of the best.

I ordered a toasted rainbow bagel with butter on it for my child who was with me. When we got to the park to eat it, I thought they screwed up and added cream cheese. But no, it was butter. This picture was taken after I had to use five napkins to scoop off the globs of unsalted butter. The entire thing was like a lard soaked butter bomb, I’m quite shocked that anyone would dress a bagel like this. Particularly for a child.
