Came here on a Saturday afternoon in October between lunch and dinner and mostly had the place to ourselves. We weren't too hungry, but got some sushi, sashimi and a roll and it was all delicious! The fish was fresh and the sushi well prepared. On top of that the staff was extremely friendly and the food was fairly priced in my opinion. Will be back!

The food here is really good, which explains why it’s always packed no matter what time you go. Once it gets busy though, the service can feel a bit chaotic and not very well managed. That said, the food makes up for it, I’ll definitely be back again, especially since I live nearby.

I used to come here 3+ times a month and would recommend it to everyone, but after my last visit I won’t be back (8/21/25). The server refused a simple substitution (for a roll that was actually cheaper), offered no solutions, and then deliberately skipped the complimentary mochi they’ve always brought out, plus didn’t even bring the check. Terrible customer service, and a sad way to lose a loyal customer.
To the restaurant owner: losing a loyal, long-term customer over something like this is a big mistake. I strongly recommend reassessing staff training and how they handle valid customer concerns, because great food can’t make up for service that drives regulars away.

I have never made a review for any restaurant, but i felt obligated to do so. The sushi and sashimi were perfect. Salmon was melting in the mouth, and on top of that, our server Tyler made us feel like we were dining at a friend’s home. It was our first time stopping by during our vacation, but will absolutely make a point to come back if i am ever around the Montclair area. Definitely worth a 30-40 minute drive.
