My husband and I had our 40th birthday here this past weekend. We worked with Te'Niijah and she was great! At this venue, you must expect that you have to bring almost everything yourself except tables and chairs (and the provide black linen if that's the color you're going for which worked out for us). They also have 4 small black couches and 2 coffee tables you can use. They also provide a small stand alone bar. We added 3 regular tables around it to make a larger bar since we had 100 people. You should plan how much time you will need to set up vs clean up when figuring out your party time slots. We did a cocktail hour turned nightclub, hired bartenders and waitstaff (from John Claude Catering - who I would highly recommend!) and had no issues with set up time or clean up. JC staff took care of most of the clean up. I just had to get everything out by the time I promised I would be out by, which wasn't an issue. The space was exactly what we were looking for, exposed brick with that lounge vibe. We loved the long hallway before you entered - there is so much you can do with the space. The staff set up 2 tables in the hallway around 10pm (our party was over at midnight). One table was for cigars and the other was for McDonalds. It was a nice surprise that no one can see until they left the main party room. I tagged The Loft on IG so you should be able to see the rest of the set up from there. I would highly recommend having a party here! We loved it!

We recently hosted our baby shower at The Loft in Montclair, NJ and it was truly an incredible experience. From start to finish everything went smoothly thanks to the amazing team especially Te’Niijah and A’tasia.
The space itself was beautiful modern and spacious with a great layout that worked perfectly for our event. One of the things we really appreciated was that they provided tables and chairs which made planning so much easier. It’s a great setup and the venue is very well maintained.
Te’Niijah and A’tasia were an absolute dream to work with. They were professional friendly and always accessible whenever we had questions. They offered helpful recommendations and made us feel supported throughout the planning process. You can tell they genuinely care about making your event special and stress free.
On the day of the shower everything went off without a hitch. We were able to enjoy ourselves and be present with our guests while knowing that everything behind the scenes was being handled.
We’re already looking forward to rebooking The Loft for future events. Huge thanks and major kudos to Te’Niijah and A’tasia for their incredible work collaborating with us and our vendors. We wholeheartedly recommend this venue and team to anyone planning a special celebration.

The staff was wonderful, starting a year ago when we first came to see the space, and continuing all the way through the party. They replied promptly to all my emails, were flexible when it came to scheduling walkthroughs, and were very helpful in figuring out the layout of the event. I highly recommend The Loft if you are looking for a blank slate that you can customize to suit your needs!

Amazing space! Staff were very responsive and were always around to help as needed. I felt very prepared for my celebration because of them. They arranged the set up of the tables and helped plan the layout for me. All my guests loved the venue and the prices are very reasonable for what you get.

I've attended this space twice now (once for a wedding reception and another time shortly after for the art exhibit). I can honestly say I'm in awe. Loovee this space down (and the owner is so sweet!). The vision here is obvious. It's giving a love for all things Black culture and I'm here for it! I have been spreading the word to my friends and family. Can't wait to host my bday brunch here in November!
We held our daughter's Bat Mitzvah here. It was a perfect size for about 100 people, the separate rooms allowed guests some separation from the party and the staff was very helpful and accomodating.

My partner and I hosted our baby shower of about 150 guests at The Loft Montclair on 8/24/24. From inquiring about the space, booking it, and running through the final touches- Te’Niijah and Rukiya were an absolute dream to work with. Very responsive, professional, and gave care to details which I appreciated. They were very accommodating to our schedule and allowed us to get into the venue earlier than contracted to set up which was a life saver for me as I handled most aspects of the planning process myself since I didn’t hire an event planner. We got a lot of feedback from our guests that they loved the space and decor. The energy could be felt from wall to wall, just great vibes all around. The venue itself is really nice and what The Loft Montclair provides such as the tables, chairs, linens, kitchen etc really allow a “one stop shop” kind of feel that checks a lot of needed items for a good event off the list. I would definitely book another event at this venue. A great experience.
