The Wood Pit Barbecue is a cozy little eatery with a small but warm and friendly staff.

The ribs are the best I've had in NJ.

I've known the family that owns The Wood Pit for over 20 years. Great food. The owner's son was very welcoming. The ribs and mac and cheese were to die for. I loved the casual dive atmosphere.

Very unassuming BBQ establishment! I could tell that the place makes more money based on catering than direct orders, but my friend and I had a very satisfying meal, consisting of ribs, brisket, and various sides. Note that they didn't have the smoked corn on the cob, which I would have loved to try. The BBQ sauce was some of the best I have had, but the mac and cheese side dish could have used a bit more salt.

Best bbq around! You can't get better bbq anywhere! And their cornbread rocks! The owner is one of the nicest guys around too.

If you're looking for good Barbecue, this is definitely the place to go to. Everything was amazing.

It was okay. The chopped barbecue needed a little more seasoning. The ribs were nice and tender, however, they were a little burnt. The mac and cheese was very well prepared. The greens were seasoned well. The cornbread was tasty, a little brown under the bottom. Overall, I would eat here again, just wouldn't be my first choice.

Best thing hands down was live music. Has hipster level beer menu. Food was 4/5 typical bierhall stuff like sausage. Pretty tasty.

Customer service was great!!! Ordered chicken and brisket. The chicken wings were awesome...smoked then fried...crispy and juicy...brisket is juicy and full of flavor. I tried the ribs from a friends plate and those are meaty, juicy and full of smoke flavor. Portions are big.

I had a bad experience. Only giving 2 because very nice girl up front. Got a 'pulled pork' sandwich I had to make myself was just cubes of meat, my white bread was moldy I was disgusted(fresh rolls would be better and actually pull the pork) place is in bad shape. Felt like a jailhouse lunch in a run down joint.

Lawrence catered a family party for 25 . . . he was great at recommending the right amount of food and the food was AWESOME! Pork ribs, beef ribs, chicken wings, beans, slaw, cornbread with the sauce. . . Perfect and a crowd-pleaser. Thanks, Wood Pit!!

Good BBQ in an unassuming place. Just go, the food is good.

First time, definitely not the last time Made a Southern boy like me, feel at home

I love the BBQ here. This is as good as it gets in NJ for Carolina style chopped pork. Real smoke flavor and outstanding sides: collard greens, corn bread, green beans, and mac & cheese.
