Looks like a quaint little place when you're passing by-- don't let that fool you, the food here is PHENOMENAL! Parking: They have free parking up the block at the art museum which is super convenient. I went on a Saturday around 10:30am and there were plenty of spots in the lot. Service: So so so nice! Our server was very kind, made sure to tend to everything we asked for. We're a group that loves to ask for tons of extra condiments (hot sauce, mayo, chipotle mayo, pepper flakes etc.) and our server was happy to get everything to us ASAP which I appreciated. The only thing is, they don't take reservations so be prepared to wait at least 30-45 mins. Food: I got the California scramble -- DELICIOUS it had some sliced grape tomato, avocado and monterey jack with sour cream and homemade salsa! We got sourdough bread and some home fries with it as well! You could tell the ingredients were fresh which I appreciated. Be sure to throw some toast hot sauce on there to take it to the next level. I also got a short stack of the red velvet pancakes ... and it came with a side of cream cheese frosting along with maple syrup. So so good. It's pretty sweet but I loved it! Highly recommend as a sweet treat to share. I split the short stack between myself and one other friend. Drinks: Do not miss out on the French toast latte!!!! It was the perfect amount of cinnamon flavor. I don't like my coffee too sweet, and this was the perfect amount with just a hint of sweetness without having it be overpowering. Overall: Hope I convinced you to stop by! Loved toast and I will be back!
Great little location with very friendly staff. It was my first time here and it was definitely busy around 10:30 am on a Saturday. But I was just by myself so I went right in with a seat at the bar counter tucked a bit away. The two baristas there were attentive and patient. One recommended I try the French toast latte when I asked what was popular or special. She did caution me that it was sweet, which it definitely was, but it was tasty!I had the huevos rancheros after finally deciding on savory over sweet, but next time I've got my eye on the carrot cake pancakes. Lively atmosphere, good portions, and excellent service.I had brought a book to read in case there was a wait, and I did end up reading a little while I waited for my food and later as I finished my coffee. I didn't want to take up a spot for too long, but I think being at the counter wasn't an issue versus if I had a table. I'll be back again!
Ordered online- Pretty darn expensive but hey the food was good! Went around 12 and called in to ask if they were still serving Brunch.. turns out it's an all day menu! Good perk! We got the uhhh... Smoked Salmon Omelette (smoked salmon, onion, tomato and goat cheese) added in avocado and 2 Sausage and Pepper Omelettes (3 eggs scrambled with sautéed onion, peppers and breakfast sausage) added in bacon *they actually messed this up and added the bacon to the 3rd order??♀️ we also got 2 strawberry milkshakes and one vanilla ?The shakes were great in the beginning but we threw em away eventually cause they were Super Sweet to the middle/end.All in all 4 stars?
We come here a bunch! But... this time Cassandra’s exemplary service earned you all this review! Keep up the good work! The food was exceptionally exceptional this time around! Customer for life!
Now this is how you do brunch. Came here last sunday for brunch at 12 pm before a festival i had to go to. Me and my party ordered two orange juices and had french toast and cali omelette and another omelette. TotalBill was $71. I highly recommend getting the bella nutella french toast and cali omelette. We only waited for 30 mins for a table. Street parking only available.
Too hyped up, lines outside on the weekend or misleading, thought that brunch spots would have some solid options and easy menu to pick from. The menu was massive, and the tables were sticky. Most of the coffee drinks were really sweet with an option of putting some thing like a French toast twist or chocolate syrup in your morning coffee. With so many good options locally I don't understand why this place is so popular every weekend.
Breakfast here was ok on a Sunday morning. It was pretty loud, seems like a lot of families come here and it’s a relatively small place with two floors of seating. It took a good 5-10 minutes for someone to notice we were waiting for a table, but that’s ok - they were busy. The food was fine, I expected more but that’s on me. It’s just typical diner food and it was just fine. Overall, I’m glad I tried this place, but it’s not anything special, so I likely won’t come back.
Great place for breakfast. Really like the gives of the place-Cozy and chill. Love ❤️ the smoked salmon toast, amazing amazing. The Eggs Benedict were not good, but the beef hash was fantastic. Service was great!
The experience there was excellent. The waitress was a sweetheart. She went about and beyond for my birthday. The food was absolutely delicious and it was a wonderful environment. I definitely recommend going here.
I was in the neighborhood and grabbed lunch with my sister on a Monday morning. Pretty busy in the late morning during the weekday. We ordered the chicken avocado bacon club and she had the blt with shrimp with an Arnold Palmer and a lemonade. Club Sandwich: 6/10 (~$13-15) Small portions. Comes with a serving of fries. Chicken was dry. The multigrain bread its served on is awesome though. The avocado and tomatoes made me extremely nauseous however and couldn't finish my meal. BLT Sandwich: 9/10 (~$16 with shrimp sub) The shrimp elevated the sandwich and tasted great. Very average, I feel as though the quality of the food has gone a little downhill over the years.
Good, I would come back. While the restaurant doesn't take reservations you can add your name/phone number to the list and they will text you when your table is ready. Additionally through the Yelp app you can track your spot in line and it will tell you the expected time your table will be ready. This is a great spot to catch up with friends in Montclair and it is BYOB (perfect for mimosas). Our table started with the cinnamon rolls, unfortunately these were dry and could've used more icing and for $6 you only receive 3 small rolls. We really liked the Crab Hash which is a bed of roasted potatoes, egg, crab meat and some vegetables. Additionally the Nutella French toast was good while the Banana Foster could've been sweeter or come with a side of syrup. Overall, would recommend and come back if I was in the area.
Good food, small portions. Fun ambience for brunch, it's BYOB which is nice. Our group of friends came here for brunch on a Sunday morning. We waited about 20 minutes for a table which isn't bad. The restaurant is BYOB so we stopped by a liquor store nearby while waiting for our table. We ordered the Grilled Cinnamon Buns to share. They were just OK and wouldn't order again. For entrees we tried the Bananas Foster French toast, Nutella Pancakes and Crab Hash. We didn't love the combo of the banana foster french toast. The Nutella pancakes were delicious as was the crab hash. Definitely recommend and would order again. The portion sizes were a little small, I could definitely order two entrees if I was super hungry lol. Overall would come back for breakfast / brunch food!
Had been wanting to try Toast for a while but never seemed to have the opportunity. Bf and I wanted to have pancakes so took the opportunity to try something new as opposed to The Corner which always hits the spot for breakfast food. This place had a nice homey atmosphere like your local mom and pops. Breakfast was very good and we had great service. I gotta say though the buttermilk pancakes did not blow me away. Although they were good, I've had a little better. The rest of the breakfast was yummy. Recommend the French toast latte.
Good food, coffee and service!
We came here for early brunch today to celebrate the end of being on night shift. This is a cute no frills place with limited street parking and some outdoor seating (we opted for indoor because outdoor was just on the main street and it was too sunny). I got the huevos rancheros and short stack of red velvet pancakes and my friend got Sundays on the farm (beef hash and eggs) and Nutella and strawberry French toast. Everything was great but the standout for me was the pancakes. They were incredibly fluffy and came with sweet cream cheese. I would return to get them again (with strawberries) and try the carrot cake pancakes too. Service was friendly and food came out fast, which I was grateful for.
