Hands down the best Mediterranean (Turkish cuisine) spot in town! 🇹🇷✨
We’re officially obsessed. Artichoke salad, pumpkin muhammara, hell yogurt (yes, it’s heavenly AND spicy), hummus, and calamari to start, every single bite was a winner.
Then came the Wagyu burger and shish kebab… absolutely next level. 🔥
And let’s talk about those French fries , they were beyond potatoes, beyond expectations, basically living their best life.
10/10, will happily come back hungry again. 🍽️❤️

If you haven’t been to Zeguma yet, you are truly missing out. I keep coming back, and every single visit reminds me why it’s one of my absolute favorites in Montclair.

The mezze burrata with saffron leaves is simply unforgettable. It’s rich, creamy, and beautifully balanced — the saffron adds this subtle, aromatic depth that elevates the dish beyond anything you’d expect. It’s the kind of plate you think about days later and find yourself craving again.

And the shakshuka? Absolutely outstanding. Perfectly poached eggs nestled in a vibrant, flavorful tomato sauce with just the right amount of spice. It’s comforting, bold, and clearly made with care. Every bite feels intentional and delicious.

The quality, consistency, and creativity at Zeguma make it a place I happily return to again and again. If you love beautifully executed Mediterranean flavors with a fresh twist, this spot deserves a permanent place in your rotation.

I would give this a 3.5 stars if in could. The food is above average and I enjoyed it. My biggest gripe is they don't offer a bunch of items you would expect from this type of restaurant ie Gyros, plain falafel. The brunch menu was limited as well the true breakfast items. I would go again.

This is one of the best restaurants in NJ. Everything was delicious but the lamb chops were maybe the best I have ever had. Special thanks to our server Semih for guiding us through the menu and helping us pick the best stuff. We'll definitely be back.

Nice outdoor and indoor spaces. Good atmosphere. Good service even when busy. The food is excellent. You can BYO or they have a wine menu.

While the food and ambiance here are good, the service was noticeably unprofessional and took away from the entire experience.

We ordered a couple of appetizers, including the beet falafel balls. They were excessively hard—hard enough that if thrown on a glass wall, it would break it. It was extremely difficult to cut into. We calmly and politely mentioned this to the server, clearly stating that we were enjoying the food overall and were just curious if this is how it’s made here because we’ve had falafels at multiple other Mediterranean places and this was way too hard. Instead of acknowledging the issue or offering to check with the kitchen, the server chose to lecture us on how falafel is made. This felt dismissive and defensive, especially given that we were paying customers offering reasonable feedback.

Shortly after, while we were still eating, the server abruptly began clearing our plates without asking if we were finished. We had to stop him and tell him to keep some of the plates and take only the rest. The interaction felt rushed and passive-aggressive, as if he was unhappy that we had questioned the appetizer earlier.

The main course was fine, but by that point the service had already set a negative tone. We left a 15% tip—lower than our usual—strictly due to the service. After paying, we could clearly see the server showing the tip amount to another staff member, commenting on it, and making faces. Watching staff openly react to a tip in front of guests is highly unprofessional and uncomfortable.

This is not the standard of service one expects from a fine-dining or upscale establishment. Good food and a nice vibe cannot compensate for service that feels dismissive, rushed, and visibly resentful toward guests for simply asking a question.

Outstanding experience from start to finish. The food was absolutely delicious — perfectly cooked, fresh, and full of flavor. Every dish came out exactly as it should, and you can tell real care goes into the kitchen here.

The service was just as impressive. Our server, Semih, was attentive, friendly, and extremely professional without being overbearing. He made sure everything was perfect, checked in at the right times, and genuinely cared about our experience.

I’m in the restaurant industry and manage restaurants myself, so I don’t give praise lightly. This place gets it right — great food, great service, and a team that clearly takes pride in what they do.

Highly recommend and will definitely be coming back.

Absolutely phenomenal food. We ordered quite a few small plates and the flavors were amazing. We also ordered entrees (fried fish and hamburgers) which were also delicious. The servers were on top of their game with bringing food out in a timely and ordered fashion and gauging the timing of the table well. They do sell wine which complimented our meal. The portions were fair and the prices were comparable. They accommodated dairy allergies at our table and were clear about what could not be ordered (it is not marked on the menu but you can ask). Parking is limited in the area. This location is wheelchair accessible with no steps and additional space throughout the resturant. The ambiance was quieter and more elegant. Best resturant we ate at in the Montclair area would definitely come back.
Talk to your server for any dietary restrictions, they are not marked but the servers know their ingredients/menu.

This was our first visit. It won't be our last The food was EXCELLENt and our waiter (I wish I remembered his name) was friendly; knowledgeable and efficient. My wife and I shared the mushroom Manti adnthe Kuzu lamb chop. They were both exceptional.
