I never ever ever ever feel obliged to review restaurants. There are hundreds of reviews that speak and echo anything I would say about the delicious meal I enjoyed. But what is compelling me to post this was truly the regarding the service I received here. It brought me to tears!!! Patricio and Dylan were the most considerate, kind, attentive and understanding waiters I have ever met in my entire life. After dining in the tri-state area my whole life, exploring cities like Chicago and LA through food, I’ve been conditioned and numb to lackluster waitstaff and typically take the approach of trying just to avoid them spitting in my food, but Patricio and Dylan completely floored me in their attention to detail, knowledge, and service that showed me exactly what good waiters could be. Living with GI issues and intolerances, I consistently feel like an inconvenience at restaurants and that the entire responsibility of making sure I don’t fall ill after dining is based on how I modify the menu and pick around my plate. EXCEPT here at Rails with Patricio and Dylan, I had the first care-free dining experience in my life, their thoughtfulness allowed me to be truly present with my family, enjoy the wonderful food being served, and just live in the moment, which is so important to me. Dylan was explicit in the detail of every dish and always helped me navigate what was coming around and being served. Now, back to the tears, when I subtly mentioned in passing to Patricio that I couldn’t eat dairy and couldn’t partake in the birthday cake, he brought me a delicious sorbet flight, unprompted, just so that I could feel a part of the festivities. I can’t wait to go back to Rails to see my friends again. - Emily R. Sartori
Our server Laura was extraordinarily efficient knowledgeable attentive and prompt of our needs. Great service and great food
Would've given a 5 but I was charged for an item that I didn't purchase and didn't notice this until I got home.
Great food but service was slow. It was Thanksgiving so it was very busy but could have been better where we were seated especially when the reservation was made months in advance.
Unfortunately, Rails has been hit or miss with us over the past several years that we been going. This past experience was a big miss. The ambiance and service as always was excellent, but the porterhouse was uninspiring and average at best. It was overcooked and poorly seasoned. Even the peppercorn sauce couldn't help the taste, as that too was very bland. Sadly, this will be our last time going here for a steak.
food and service were outstanding. each of the sides appetizers and main dishes was excellent
Beautiful place for a date night. Delicious food but limited pescatarian options (yes, it's a steakhouse) due to some fish dishes having meat. Speakeasy area is lovely. Great for an after dinner drink or just have dinner at the speakeasy. Great night!
Outstanding food and friendly service. Not rushed. Pricey but worth it other than spending 12 bucks for mashed potatoes to go with my 51 buck fillet.
Disappointing Experience Despite Special Occasion I visited Rails Steakhouse for my husband's birthday and had requested a window seat. Upon arrival, we were told none were available and were instead seated in a cramped space where servers frequently passed right by us. Looking around, it was clear there were several open window seats. While the staff acknowledged my husband's birthday when we were first seated, there was no further recognition during our meal. I was not finished eating my dinner, and the server took my plate. I had to request that he return it to the table. The food and ambiance are good, but the seating experience and lack of attention to our special occasion made the visit less enjoyable. I hope Rails can improve seating arrangements and service attention for special occasions to enhance the overall experience.
We always have a great dinner at Rails. We were happy to take our 91 year old uncle there for a special steak dinner. He was so happy and throughly enjoyed his meal. Thank you for your kindness and patience.

We had a less than great experience about a year ago. The room was crowded and loud. It deterred from our first experience. We decided to give it another try but to our surprise this was TOTALLY different! We were in a smaller room and the noise level was extremely acceptable. The food and service was delightful. I wish I knew the name of the room as we'd love to return and reserve a table within those walls.
Nice porterhouse steak entree for 2 Waiter : Rashid was so super spectacular — very attentive & courteous — hoping to revisit when he serves us again (on a long Saturday after work)
It was perfect. The mussel special for an appetizer was out of bounds! Steaks cooked to perfection. Sides were delicious. Rails hits every time. Don't forget possibly the best thing on the menu, carrot cake!
My wife and I had another incredible dining experience at Rails Steakhouse in Towaco! The food was, once again, absolutely stellar — perfectly cooked, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. What really made the night special was our server, David. We had him once before about nine months ago, and he actually remembered us — such a thoughtful touch that really stood out. Just like last time, his service was outstanding: attentive, friendly, and genuinely invested in making sure we had a great evening. Rails continues to impress on every level — amazing food, a warm and inviting atmosphere, and truly exceptional service. We'll definitely be back again soon!
I hate to leave a bad review but this was just a poor experience all around. Too much was upsetting to include publicly but I would not recommend this for any special occasion.
